It's finally over. I vividly remember the day norv was hired and I will remember this day for a long time as well. I blame AJ much more than Norv. Norv was hired to do a job he was unqualified to do. He failed but the real failure began the day AJ hired him.

    Responding to myself...

I forgot to add that he's probably at a circle jerk with Jay Paris.

Dean Spanos is acting like Marcellus in Pulp Fiction: go out there, tell those mfing charger fans to chill the F down and wait for the Wolf to appear.

Let me guess, Dean is going to wait until the first wave of free agent GM's and Coaches are off the market.

I was never on the AJ bandwagon like the many fools tagging him as God. On Norv I just hoped providence would shine on him for once because it was the Chargers which he was chosen to lead. Carry on!!!!.

Well, it's not like there's ANY consensus here, anyway, of who would actually be a good pick.
(and the perpetually bitter are probably withholding their preferences just so they can complain no matter who ends up with the job!)

Six years of putrid head coaching gets washed away today. Good riddance Norvy boy... and don't let the door hit you in the *** on the way out.

I am not sure how he could have been a scape goat. While the OL was horrid there are areas that Norv just didnt seem to be able to control, such as having the players mentally attuned to the aspect of the games (late hits out of bounds, etc).

Norv was definately not a bad coach for us, but he needed a stronger supporting cast. What would have made me mad was if AJ was retained. I blame him more for our current state than Norv.

"The search for a new general manager and head coach has been ongoing for weeks.
About a month ago, Spanos first contacted former Packers general manager Ron Wolf, who has been hired as a consultant to help in the search. He will join Spanos, son John Spanos and assistant general manager Ed McGuire in the process to first find the Chargers' next general manager, who will then join the effort to find Turner's replacement."

Good, because Spanos had been consulting with Jimmy Johnson for more than a decade, and we can see where that got us.

Yep, Norv had is flaws as a HC, but the erosion of the roster is what doomed this team to mediocrity..... in the end, you need talent to win.
