Yeah, me too, Buck......... abstinence does make the occasional CoCola indulgence that much tastier!!
That used to be my favorite drink...........I'd open up a can of Coke, chug half of it, then fill it up with Bacardi 151. Funny thing is, I'd walk around downtown Escondido with one in my hand, thinking I was being sneaky, while I proceeded to get completely trashed. I didn't dare light a cigarette after two or three of those.....coulda been explosive. God must've been watching out for me, 'cause I sure as hell wasn't watching out for myself. Now I'm old and boring, and I'm grateful to be that way---a few more years of that kind of 'fun', and I'd have been pushing up daisies before I ever got to see my grandchildren.
I used to ride around Glamis with some Bacardi 151 and Coke in a Plastic Milk Jug on my Cooler Rack on the back of my Honda 250R 3-Wheeler. Ever go 65 MPH at Midnight and shut your lights off in the middle of the dessert?
I hate straight 151. It's like pure goasoline but mix it with coke, yum. I pefer whiskey with my coke
Well I go to the local eaterie/bar with my 21-y/o friends and one of them buys a bottle of jack. We put some in my flask. I buy a coke inside and also put that in the flask. I could probably put beer in it too but I haven't yet. So it's straight out of the bottle, perfect for marching band practice.
No, but my sister got in a horrendous car wreck there back in 1964. She coded twice and spent over two months in the Brawley hospital, having broken nearly every bone in her body flying out of the car across about 300 feet of desert road. Me, I just used to cruise Valley Parkway with the radio blasting and my Bacardi and Coke sitting in the cup holder. Yeah, I was REAL smart. Never got caught DWI, but I should've been. Once I was so stinkin' drunk behind the wheel that I had my car PARKED in the mall parking lot and I wouldn't get out of the car because it felt like it was still moving. Like I said, God was really looking out for me. I don't know very many people who did so many stupid things like that and didn't get themselves arrested, hurt, or dead. Guess He had something in mind for me........I don't know if I know what that is, but I suppose I'll take His word for it!
If the moon is out on a clear night, who needs headlights in the desert. Did some night dirt bike riding, but not hammered. Hard to keep your balance on 2 wheels....
