    It's a long story.

My father told me that when he married my mom he had a new car and a thousand dollars in the bank, a year later he had neither. When my mom got pregant with me he had to sell his 1959 Austin Healy because she couldn't fit in it.

In 1987 I found the car in it's current condition and gave it to him for father's day. Unfortunately he can no longer drive it. I take it out for a drive a couple of times a year. I'm thinking about converting it to a right hand drive, which my daughter is in favor of.

You don't remember the term of endearment given to my betrothed by Concudan at your BBQ the weekend we were there? :icon_shrug:

She says that, while I may be viewed as his "property", she is not.

Hey Rexy. Still hanging on doing the "fan" thang! :D Enjoying the fact that our season still isn't "over" for at least one more week. Guess the best way to say it is "my glass remains half full".

How YOU doin? (imitating Joey from Friends)...

Back in the 70s, I had a '62 MK II 3000 Sports while we lived in Poway - Loved that little car like nothing I've had since. (I was constantly tuning the SU carbs, but didn't mind a whit). You bring back some great memories!

    I'm doing alright, thankyouverymuch.

I like your analogy of the "glass being half full" as opposed to empty. I heartily concur.

The talk of today was the Chargers pulling that game outta their backsides. Barely.

I wish I was just a bit more ready for Christmas. It finally feels like its coming. I'm chillin tonight on the coast. And tomorrow, rain.

One more week of school. Then, Christmas break. 2 week vacay.
    Yessssssssssss...

My oldest son just received an invitation to attend the Youth Friendship Games for Soccer in Holland next year. He will get taught by a Dutch coach, and play in an Olympic style competition!

That is soo cool! I hope I can make it happen for him!

    A Christmas Story ----

A Christmas Story for people having a bad day:
When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drank all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.
The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

ME have spiced hot apple cider with a huge dollop of Hiram Walker's Peach Brandy in it. Drink enough of it and they will call you "fruity".

Please say a quick prayer for my sister who is having emergency surgery in Phoenix right now. The procedure is to repair and incarcerated hernia. She's being opened up (no laparoscope as was hoped) as this will be a more extensive surgery.

I have a good feeling about this and that she'll do well, but a few extra prayers won't hurt. THANKS.

Will do, Carrie. I know how anxious I have been because my sister has had surgery and illnesses. I will pray for a successful surgery and a hasty recovery.

Thanks guys. No news from Phoenix.... which I'm sure is good news. I'll call the hospital in an hour or so.

EDIT: Just got the news from my niece. Extensive surgery but everything went well. Now I can breathe a sigh of relief.
