That week off didn't do the number 1 seeds, Titans and Panthers, any favors.

Let's see if another wild card team (Eagles) can advance to the conference championship game. I'm kind of pulling for them.

Toby, PM one of the BB regulars that also post here, like HBM, ChargerJeff and Sydalish (to name a few). See if they can help you with your BB registration issue.

Honestly, the soup was just OK.... I think my chicken stir fry (tonight) will be a much bigger hit and there shouldn't be as many after affects. :icon_eek: Never, I repeat, never, should anyone make bean soup for a date. :icon_mrgreen: ;)

Gotta admit that the black forest ham sandwiches were absolutely delicious... I guess I've mastered the art of making a sandwich...

Looking forward to next week, it's a given that if the Chargers remain in the playoffs, I'll be pulling for them.

If the Chargers can squeak out a win here, we'll have three teams in the final four that have never won a SB.

I need some advice from other grandparents out there.

I'm very close to my granddaughter, Alina, who will turn 2 in March. She calls her mother, "Mommy" and calls me, "Mom"

I've tried to teach her to call me "Grandma", and she'll sometimes say "Nana".... but never, "Grandma"

I've thought that this kind of bothered my DIL and today she confirmed it. When Alina calls me "Mom", I tell her that my name is "Nana", but don't correct her or make her feel bad about it..... I think my DIL wants me to correct her even more directly as I think Alina calling me "Mom" really bothers her...

How would you other grandmas out there handle this? :icon_shrug:

Duh, it all makes sense now..... What took me soooo long???? They have to stop calling me "MOM"... It's not my problem, it's theirs...

OK, everytime, they call me "Mom" or "Lady".... I'm going to correct them and tell them it's "Nana" :icon_mrgreen:

    Toby,

This gets better. Alina spent the day and night with me yesterday. At her home she would unpack and repack her diaper bag and say things like this is for Grandma's house.

No sooner did she get here than she started calling me "Mommy", not "Mom"

I was thinking, "oh great" Everytime she did this, I'd acknowledge her but I'd also tell her that I was Grandma, Nana, anything but "Mommy" She'd reply with "No... Mommy" I believe this has become a lil game to her because she's probably picked up on the angst of her mother over this issue ,... and kids at this age have a tendency to like being uncooperative if they can...;) (Did I mention that this DIL is only 20?)

Later I picked up a magazine and asked her who the various people were. Everyone was a "Mommy" :icon_shrug: :icon_rofl:

Anyway I made the real "Mommy" happy when I told her that her daughter had a very hard time going to bed last night and really wanted her "Mommy"

    Hey Carrie~

I had the same problem with my grandson, Eli, when he was 2. He knew everybody's names/titles, but he just couldn't quite get "Gramma" and "Grampa" down---we were "Mamma" and "Papaw" for the longest time. It didn't bother us so much as it did his mom and dad, for obvious reasons.......I'd probably have felt a little threatened myself if my first child had addressed my parents as "Mama" and "Daddy".

Finally, he figured it out last summer. I think that's because Cale, the 22-month-old, figured it out first and has called us "Gramma" and "Grampa" since he started talking.

Alina will get it right. And when she does, it'll be music to your ears!

Ya, as old as it makes me feel, I'll love it when lil A first says "Gwamma" to me. She knows that's who I am but doesn't want to call me that. I'm sure some of this stems from her family living with me until she was 8 months old and the amount of time I still spend with her.

Oh the bathroom was way way way too cold this morning... :icon_eek:

Do you remember that our grandkids, Alina and Cole, were born two days apart? I'll just have to tell Miss Alina that Cole calls you, Gwamma, so she'd better get with the program...  j/k...

Total damages of $156.86 (with the service call)...+ he's tweaking the electrical system to get a "little bit better response"

Not too much of a dent in the budget... but something is going to have to be left out this month. :icon_shrug:

WOW. Airfares on JetBlue are really good. Between SLC and SD the fares are $70 one way and between SLC and Vegas, they are $40 one way. This beats driving anyday

Wish JetBlue had flights between SLC and Phoenix as I was thinking of making a trip there if the Cards go to the SB. The rates to Phoenix (on Southwest) aren't that great right now.
