I scored the same as Toby with an 85% my wrongs were random.

Thank you very much Toby for giving us this challenging test.

Time may have finally run out for Spurs

LOS ANGELES — Time finally may have run out on the San Antonio Spurs - both for this season and in their championship-filled run.

The group of 30-something Spurs could not keep up with the in-their-20s Los Angeles Lakers. After another fast start at Staples Center, San Antonio seemed to tire, again blowing a substantial lead and falling 100-92 on Thursday night as the Lakers won Game 5 to advance to the NBA finals.

San Antonio took a 17-point lead in the second quarter, but the Lakers caught up in the third and put the game away late in the fourth.

In the Western Conference final opener, San Antonio was up by 20 in the third quarter on the Lakers' court before the Spurs began to struggle and Los Angeles stormed back to win 89-85.

The series could mark the end of an era for the defending champion Spurs and their impressive run of titles, which includes three in the past five years, and four in the last nine.

Earlier in the series against the Lakers, San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich had said age was really no factor, that it was silly to think that when the Spurs won, it was because of their experience and when they lost, it was because they were older than dirt.

Following their loss to the Lakers, he still wasn't interested in talking about his team's age. He answered a question about there being a lot of good, young teams in the Western Conference, by saying simply, "Right."

Asked if he believes the conference is in transition and if he feels the Spurs must make changes, he said, "So when you lose, you've got to make the changes, right? If we wouldn't (lose), we wouldn't have to do a thing.

"No, I think that's too superficial analysis of any team at the end of the season. Every team makes some kind of changes. We've made some changes every year, whether we've won or lost."

Tony Parker, at 26 the lone member of the Spurs' regular rotation under 30, and 32-year-old Tim Duncan did their part in Game 5, with Parker scoring 23 points and Duncan getting 19 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.

But down the stretch, the Lakers again outplayed them and teammates Bruce Bowen and Brent Barry, each 36; Michael Finely, 35; and Manu Ginobili, 30.

Popovich didn't use Robert Horry, who is almost 38, going instead with Kurt Thomas, who is 35. Thomas had 11 points in his 20:38 on the court.

Kobe Bryant, 29 and the Lakers' oldest regular except for 33-year-old backcourt-mate Derek Fisher, led Los Angeles with 39 points. Pau Gasol, 27, had 19 rebounds and 12 points, while Lamar Odom, 28, chipped in with 13 points and eight rebounds.

    The Three Little Pigs

This is a true story, proving how fascinating the mind of a six year old
    is. They think so logically.

A teacher was reading the story of the Three Little Pigs to her class.
She came to the part of the story where first pig was trying to gather
the building materials for his home.

She read ... 'and so the pig went up to the man with the wheelbarrow
full of straw and said: 'Pardon me sir, but may I have some of that
    straw to build my house?'

The teacher paused then asked the class: 'And what do you think the man
    said?'

One little boy raised his hand and said very matter-of-factly ...'I
think the man would have said - 'Well, fuq me ta tears!! A talking pig!'

The teacher was unable to teach for the next 10 minutes.

Well, they used a smaller flashlight this time. It didn't hurt nearly as bad as last year.

Hay, do you think if we all send Johnny Lightning a friend request... he might come back??????

Same for Defense Wins, Powder Love, O'reilly....

I just did a TON of friend requests. Tried to get all the "girls" and everyone I've known for a long time or have met in person. If I forget anyone, I'll get them the next time I feel like being "friendly" :icon_mrgreen:

    Huh?

Last night's game was good. Maddux pitched well. The defense was solid and sometimes spectacular. (Gerut's diving, reaching, snare of a liner to save a run). There was enough offense, and the bullpen was nothing short of spectacular.

My friend was there, and said Jake told her he feels good and was soft-tossing in the OF. He may throw off the mound on Sunday.

Things are nowhere near perfect, but they are playing better overall.

Hey Shammy, who are you pulling for in the NBA finals? Are you like me, in that you will root for whoever represents the Western Conference?

The Stern Bowl? The pre-ordained, Mob funded matchup?

I guess I'll root for Vegas to make money ....... .... either that or injuries.

Sour Grapes don't look good on you Shammy. The Spurs themselves agreed with the no-call.

Well I have to clean the house because a lady is bringing her 10 year old boy over today to meet me. I'm going to be watching him three days a week this summer. I'm not doing it for the money.. obviously .... I just like having kids around. Call me crazy...

Anyway, there are five boys that live next door, including 10 y/o twins... so this should be a good match.

Now I have to clean this messy house before they get here. :icon_eek:
