ed hochuli watching the replay on ESPN, I noticed that the ref didn't start waving his arms to signal "incomplete" until the Charger player was almost ready to recover the ball. It seemed like once he saw what was going to happen, (the ball being recovered by a Charger), that's when ol' Ed started waving his arms. I don't care what that tool says, he's too good of a ref to blow a whistle that fast on an obvious fumble. He had to have a motive. Sorry, I know it sounds sour grapes, but this was just too obvious. An official of his stature doesn't miss those calls. Unless he's trying to....

Yes, they blew 2 calls, one of which could not be reviewed due to faulty equipment (but would have surely been overturned in our favor), the other which was a mistake of game-costing proportion. Will I sign the petition? No - it serves no purpose other than to cast our fan base as a bunch of whiners. That's right, I said whiners. Football is a game of funny bounces. One of those bounces is the sometimes subjective & always human aspect of refereeing. Did Hochuli & Co. screw the pooch yesterday? You betcha. And they'll be hearing about it from all angles this week. But it won't change a thing. The refs won't be gone, the final score will still leave us on the short end. Bottom line is this, folks, whether you like the taste of it or not. We may have lost on 2 last-second plays, but the Donk offense, particularly Cutler & Marshall, shoved us around all day. Our offense played an admirable game. Our defense, for the most part, sucked *** again. So blame the refs all that you want. If signing the petition makes you feel better & relieves your angst, go for it. Just remember this - if we had played a good game on both sides of the ball, the blown calls would not have cost us this game.
