Just a feeling that even Spanos couldn't be stupid enough to screw this up. He fell into their laps after the Jets no doubt scared him off with talk of saddling him with Rex for two years. This is the best situation he's going to find. It's not a total rebuild, he stays in California (minimal impact on family move), has a QB with proven credentials, and a young defense on the rise. Make no mistake... my fingers are crossed.
I guess Gamble is due in today. I wonder how long that interview will last? If it is announced today it may not be until late but not past Ron Wolfs bedtime.
Well, it's 12 pm in California, guessing their having lunch? Or maybe they met this morning. I don't know, but I'm positive a GM will be picked out by tomorrow AM, I'll be happier with one picked out tonight.
I feel like a good portion of how slow this process is based off of a lack of a full market for HC's. Even if we did announce a GM in the past few days, we wouldn't be able to even look at bigname candidates like Winston Moss, Tomsula, Fangio, Gus Bradley, McCoy among some other candidates from the 8 teams still remaining (from winning franchises at that). So i feel like waiting on a HC, means that we'll have a better shot at the young up and coming HC candidates.

Shefter also just said that Chargers new GM will be named tomorrow. He says Telesco/Raye in the mix, no word on Gamble.

Chargers Plan To Select Their GM Today The decision could happen as quickly as today. The decision. Not as dramatic as LeBron James and his decision, but Chargers fans need some sort of excitement. The plan is to have the new GM in place today, according to Kevin Acee, and then they can finally start interviewing their head coaching candidates. Then the rumors can jump into hyper mode. Acee has said that the top 2 candidates for the GM vacancy are Indianpolis Colts’ Tom Telesco and our very own Jimmy Raye. Our BB Poll shows that you all want Telesco to get the job. That probably means that we go in the other direction. In my opinion, this is probably a one person race. It has always been a one person race. And will end with Jimmy Raye being named the GM. They interviewed all the other candidates to see if anyone could knock their socks off, but eventually knew that the best for the team would be Raye. If you wanted a change in the atmosphere in the front office, then you can go ahead and scream in your pillow for a few hours. Punch a couple of holes in the wall while you are at it. After you get all your anger out, hope that Raye can bring in a capable head coach. Raye is respected around the league and interviewed for multiple GM vacancies last season. We can’t blame all of the problems with the roster on Raye. He helped in the decision making process, but the final decisions were up to AJ Smith. If Raye is given the keys to this ride, then he will get to drive this thing in whatever direction he wants (or whatever direction Dean wants). Let’s just hope that it brings us back to the playoffs.

I think it's clear why they made it Telesco v Raye. They didn't want Raye to have any real competition. Not that he isn't qualified, but it's clear this was a fixed race out of the gate.
The fix is in. JR3 is the guy. I have no clue why Dean brought in Wolf as a consultant. Oh wait, I forgot...up is down, black is white, in is out, in Deano's World. Either way, I'm sure the Fire Raye Thread starts within 24 hours...
