Actually,I've been talking **** since 1973 when I attended my first Charger game. :tounge: Yet you think the Jets beat the Raiders in the Super Bowl? So, when did you start watching football? :icon_rofl: How much better is Dilfer that Pennington? How about Todd? Should I continue?
The Jets offense played as well as it possibly could against the Bengals yesterday, better than they have all season... and still the Bengals were in the game. Our offense is far better than the Bungles, and our defense is very underrated. We have given up only one 100yd rusher since week 4, and that was Chris Johnson racking up his stats in garbage time.
I thought you didn't smack talk? But you're going to come in here and pull the lamest of all smack talk? (Insinuate fans weren't fans until the team started winning)
I'm sending a link of this thread to the staple of jets fans (those douchebags on "jersey shore"), and blaming you for the asswhipping the jets are about to receive. Lead pipe lock- "Jets struck by lightning @ 20k feet, crash and burn in SD" Chargers 38 Jets 16
This is largely just about perception. The Colts have Manning. They have been in the national spotlight for years. They were on the verge of being undefeated. The Chargers are from San Diego where it is warm and people go to the beach. The Jets are from the "cold" "tough" east coast. Phillip Rivers is good at being a loudmouth, LT is old and Merriman isn't doing steroids anymore. That sums up the Chargers to them. I don't think the Jets are pushovers. They can run and blitz well and have a corner who can shut down many #1 receivers. This is a sound base to beat most teams in the NFL. I respect them but they will need a couple more years to round out their squad to make them truly competitive. Then again... any given Sunday.
The Bolts are not strong because of the guys you know, but because of the guys you don't. You don't know that: --Cooper and Weddle are two of the surest tacklers and smartest defenders in the NFL. --Siler and Dobbins are linebackers who stuff the run and can hit the O-line hole hard enough to create pressure. --We have 2 nose tackles in waiting with Nwagbuo (IR, sadly) and Martin, and Ian Scott for admirable depth, which has bowl experience, might I add. --Buster and Naanee, two receivers good enough to start for 30 of the teams in the NFL. --Floyd, who can act like a number 1 receiver when given the chance. --Larry English, who is developing the right way, learning coverage and containment before developing an NFL-style pass rush. --Ellison, Gregory, and Oliver, who could all likely start at safety. --One of the best O-lines in the league, with 3 Pro Bowlers, a right tackle with heart and can play guard, and a guy who set the combine bench press record. --A guy in Mike Tolbert who can do it all out of the backfield. You can rag on our stars, but trust me, you will leave this game knowing many, many other people on our roster.
He's probably trying to look up something on google to try and smack us with. Come on back, biggs! Don't go away mad! :icon_rofl:
Really, Dilfer??? He was a game manager for the Ravens defense. :icon_rofl: He was so good Baltimore got rid of him immediately after the SB. :icon_rofl: I noticed you didn't mention Namath. Worst QB to be in the HOF. His popularity got him in, not his stats. If anything, Stabler should be in NOT Broadway Shmoe. Hey, lets vote in Dilfer, and Brad Johnson, since they were the QB on a SB team. I still don't get your argument that Stabler should be in and not Fouts. They played in the same era dude. Your description of the previous O-Line and D-Line doesn't make your argument stick. :icon_huh: Dilfer??? really??? What has he done??? Ravens D won that SB, not him. You are so full of dog crap. :icon_rofl:
The Jets broke my heart after I seen the Chargers in 1978 ???? :icon_rofl: The Jets playoff game in '04 with Brees at QB in the first round, doesn't quite compare to having my heart broke. I don't recall the Jets winning anything in '04. Dude, nobody cares about '04, except you. Have the Jets won anything since that game??? Division titles, playoff games, anything???
The Jets with their so called "great" rushing offense and defense isn't all that great IMO, like some Jet fan Trolls seem to want to make us think. They have their good points, I give them that, #1 in least points allowed. But to say the Chargers defense is mediocre, well.... Let's check these interesting Offense and Defense stats out. Jets scoring: 37 Td's and a total of 348 points. Chargers scoring: 51 TD's and a total of 454 points. Jets rushing Offense: 21 TD's, 9 fumbles by their RB's. Chargers rushing Offense: 17 TD's, only 2 fumbles by our RB's. Jets Defense: 3 defensive TD's Chargers Defense: 4 defensive TD's Jets Defense: 32 sacks, 17 Int's. Chargers Defense: 35 sacks, 14 Int's. Is the Jets defense really that much better???? Pretty close stats I showed, and in our advantage in some cases. I'll give them the fewest points allowed by their defense, and the most total rushing yards, but that's all they can do is run, so they pile on the yards. They can't pass. We run to keep a balance, the Jets run because that's all they can do. If we couldn't totally run, Rivers would be throwing 45 times a game. He doesn't do that, check his stats. We are balanced, not one dimensional.
I think we need a "Historical Smack" thread. Rex "Get in mah belly" Ryan has done well with the Jets this year, but that's no need to get all delusional. Enjoy the weather in San Diego, Jets' fans. The ball game will surely be the low point of your stay.
Much like the last trip...when they got pole-axed on national TV. And this edition of the Chargers is far better than that one...can the same be said of the Jets? I'll answer it for you Biggs...no.
If I was a Charger fan I would be very confident. What is this the fifth year in a row the Chargers have the best team in football.
What a coincidence, this is the fifth straight year that the Jets are the third best team in the AFC East.
I wouldn't take anything the majority of the Jets fanbase says seriously. Typical New York fanbase. If you've lived in New York you know what I mean. When the Yankees/Mets/Jets/Giants are doing well they are God's gift to Earth and cannot be stopped, when they're doing poorly the sky is falling and the team is crap. After the Jets choked like dogs to Atlanta at home, and before the Colts forfeited a game, the very same guys were killing the team(including their coach, Rex Ryan The Hutt). Now apparently they're the Super Bowl favorites and going to beat the Chargers in S.D., lol.
True but 5 years ago with the third best team in the East we still came into SD in the playoffs and beat the best team in the AFC West.
