So my second round entry didn't place at all. Oh well... I entered in the county fair again this year and got: 1st - Summer Wheat 1st - Cal. Common 2nd - IIPA 2nd - Kolsch No best of Show but a brewer from my club got Champion and Grand Champion. I'll brew more.
Orange blossom? Are you going for a mead? Please explain. I'll try and send some brews to Bolts4Life soon and maybe he will share by the opener. If I get them in the mail soon enough. You guys are my bolt brothers from another mother ya know.:icon_toast:
It is an American amber with a second boil that includes the peels of 10 cleaned oranges. It comes out with a orange aroma and a slight orange after taste...
You crazy Californians. Second boil? What the hell is that? Do you mean "secondary" with orange peel added? On an Amber that might work if you keep the hopping levels low enough. But don't use "bitter" orange". I think to get a nice orange note, you would want to use mostly "sweet orange" with a little "bitter" to keep it even. JMHO
