With all this talk of new HC and GM firings and hirings, which other teams besides the Chargers are expecting to drop their GM's or HC's or both? Won't that mean a giant musical chairs kind of scenario is about to be played out after this season is over?

Everything I have heard is that the Jets are planning to keep Rex and fire their GM instead

And why would we have any interest in Rex Ryan, regardless?

We wouldn't, I replied to a post saying that Rex was getting fired, and pointing out that most reports say he won't be. So that is one less team taking HC candidates from us

One less possible mistake for Dean to make.

Doesnt discount the ability to mold an offense around the personell which our current regime is unable to do.

That is true. But it also does nothing to prove he is capable of being a head coach

That's the question Dean must be asking himself........ is it riskier to hire an NFL coordinator with no HC experience, or a college HC with no NFL experience?

I know I have said it a couple times, but no matter who they hire, I hope he concentrates on being a head coach and the big picture stuff, and lets his coordinators deal with the X's and O's and play calling

    It is a full-time job.

I always thought it was a joke when HC's insisted on being the GM as well....... talk about too much on your plate.

Yes, being a head coach and a OC/DC are 2 separate full time jobs and we need to make sure our next HC is going to be the HC and not a play caller

Dom Capers might be a good choice and fit in San Diego. I was really bummed that the Bolt's didn't go after Fox when he was let go from the Panthers. I do believe he played and coached for State. Please Dean, don't be making puppies this time around, even you deserve a winner!!!!!!!

I actually wouldn't mind Dom as he's never gotten a fair shake as an HC (both times were expansion franchises which quite frankly no coach stands a chance with). That said, I thought I remembered in that SI article they addressed that one of the reason's (aside from him being the Hispanic Uncle Scrooge) Spanos wouldn't be all that keen on Reid was Andy's age. And Capers has got years on Reid.

I'll post my list of preference among "realistic" candidates in a little, but if Dean's insistent on a guy who is young and would come inexpensively, I'll be pulling for us to get the best of both worlds and snag Winston Moss (it was his leadership qualities from their time together on Jim Haslett's Saints staff that prompted Mike McCarthy to bring Moss with him to Green Bay, eventually make him his Assistant HC, and every indication is he's a guy that just "get it," someone coaches "found a spot for" on their staffs because they wanted his influence on their players).

Regardless of who it is, there are already people on this forum who hate him and want him fired.

That would mean Arians is out also since he is 6 years older than Reid

Bring on Keith Butler and please tell Wade and Rivera that California fell into the ocean, any ocean, they wouldn't know the difference either way!!!!!!!.
