Official Bolttalk 2008 NFL Draft Thread hey so can someone give me the story on this guy, first time I've heard his name. Don't really follow college football.. thanks guys.
Official Bolttalk 2008 NFL Draft Thread AJ drafted Cason because he's the better player. IMO it's not even close.
Official Bolttalk 2008 NFL Draft Thread He's had a really productive college career, hard worker, he was the face of the Arizona team, so he's a leader, great awareness and instincts, smart, and aggressive. He slipped because he's a little thin and didn't have a great 40 time. He was the best rated CB going into the season and would of been a 1st rounder if he decided to enter the draft last season.
Antoine Cason Scouting Report Cornerback | Senior | Arizona Height: 6-01/4 | Weight: 191 | 40-Time: 4.52 Strengths: Good athleticism...Decent size with long arms...Excellent instincts, anticipation and awareness...Playmaker with terrific hands and ball skills...Is quick and plays faster than he times...Very aggressive...Good technique and footwork...Does a solid job of supporting the run...A reliable tackler...Pretty tough...Smart, a hard worker and a leader...Very productive...Confident and has a short memory...Terrific bloodlines. Weaknesses: Does not have great timed speed and lacks a burst...Will have to get stronger...Is not overly physical...Struggles to recover when beat...Hips are not very fluid...Has trouble taking on / shedding blockers...Probably won't be an ideal fit for everyone. Notes: Father Wendell played at Oregon and for the Atlanta Falcons from 1984-1987, his brother Dione ran track at Washington St. and two of his cousins (Ken-yon Rambo and Avieon Cason) played in the NFL...Started the Cason Cares campaign to raise money for the American Cancer Society in honor of his late grandfather...Was also a member of the Wildcat track team...Prototypical zone corner...Also being looked at as a potential safety..Not quite the pro prospect that his college press clippings would lead you to believe...Very good player whose lack of top speed will hurt him on draft day...He's the type you hate to doubt due to those top-notch intangibles. Career Statistics Year 2004 11 games played 70 tackles 6 passes broken up 4 interceptions 88 yards 2005 11 games played 50 tackles 5 passes broken up 3 interceptions 40 yards 2006 12 games played 62 tackles 7 passes broken up 3 interceptions 57 yards 2007 12 games played 71 tackles 14 passes broken up 5 interceptions 164 yards Totals 46 games played 253 tackles 32 passes broken up 15 interceptions 349 yards
Official Bolttalk 2008 NFL Draft Thread Ummm.... You know there was already an official NFL Draft Thread when this one was created. We don't need two, so this is getting merged.
Official Bolttalk 2008 NFL Draft Thread sounds like a great pick. He can put on weight, and a less than perfect 40 could mean a lot things. Sounds great for the nickle.
Official Bolttalk 2008 NFL Draft Thread Yea if we were going Corner this is the guy I wanted, imo the best cb in the draft.
Official Bolttalk 2008 NFL Draft Thread Yea, but if he left a year early he was good enough to be a first rounder then too, actually he might of gone higher, although that would of depended on the combine and stuff.
Official Bolttalk 2008 NFL Draft Thread I wish we had second and third round picks, but I'm happy with who we got for them.
Here's a recap of the picks so far in the AFC West: Chargers Round 1, Pick 27 Antoine Cason CB Chiefs Round 1, Pick 5 Glenn Dorsey DT Round 1, Pick 15 (From Lions) Branden Albert OG Round 2, Pick 4 Brandon Flowers CB Broncos Round 1, Pick 12 Ryan Clady OT Round 2, Pick 11 Eddie Royal WR Raiders Round 1, Pick 4 Darren McFadden RB

Hook me up fellas. TBF
Not much to update you. We took Antoine Cason CB from Arizona. No more picks for the Bolts until the 4th round unless some sort of trade is made.
Official Bolttalk 2008 NFL Draft Thread Awesome! He thought we reached on Cromartie in 05, and didn't really like our draft. There are several people who ranked Cason as the best CB in the draft, and 1 had him as the 7th best player in the draft. He was great in college but for some reason he just became underrated and overlooked and magically all of a sudden he became a 2nd round player by the major people.
if anthony reddick is available later he will get signed here. he was better than phillips until he got injured. this team needs a miami hurricane on the roster to get over the top. peace
Frank Okam would be a great pick up if he is still around in the 6th.....maybe the 5th. Maurice Murray would be a good project, too...
