    Aha! We are coming closer to the root of the issue. But incentives like those found with your face buried between two mammalian protruberances can be only good for the short term effect. Surely one looking for a more lasting gratification will eventually find more fulfillment in a respectful discourse.

    Yeah... because the supply is virtually endless. Plus time and the natural force of gravity eventually will merit consideration. There is no final frontier.

    Well, in the spirit of Jefferson's "the Earth belongs to the living," we aren't talking about
    future mammaries here...think Keynes' "long run"...I'm not going to pontificate on where a
    final frontier may or may not be, but Zeno's paradox tells me I can get close enough...

    (and most guys can recount numerous Saturday nights in which the supposed "virtually endless supply"
    of quality nose warmers was alarmingly elusive...)

    Mammalian protuberances can (and have) been a precursor to deep and meaningful relationships, but of course aren't necessarily so.

    Good points, and the young guns making the call aren't optimizing their future returns, they're just continuing the gene pool. Come to think of it, the older hacks are probably operating on the same principle.

    Turn, Turn, Turn.

    There is definitely a time for protuberances. There is definitely a time for respectful discourse.
    Nature doesn't always pack both in the same box.

    Certainly not. But let's face facts, as both you and Sandy implied, philosophy and proliferation are far from mutually exclusive.
    That said, if you'd like to turn this thread back to a more respectful (in the puritan sense) direction, have at er.

    Wordsmanship is optional. Thoughtfulness is encouraged. You offered up some philosophical views about the "losing mentality". I would be pleased if you join the discussion Jack.

    Losing mentality:

    Not tough minded

    Not setting goals

    Repeating mistakes

    Unable to over come set backs

    Un-willing to change

    Not open to suggestions

    Lacking ambition

    Short list sitting in jury duty on my phone

    If LaDainian had spent '08 & '09 in Leavenworth, would he still be on the field?

    “Do or do not; there is no try.”

    To accomplish something one need to be the entirety of mind, body, and soul into it, otherwise failure is around the corner

    I call bs. Without doubt, total dedication increases the chances of success. But lacking 'entirety of mind, body, or soul' focused on success does not guarantee failure. Unless your post was dedicated mind body and soul to jedi philosophy only. But that would be crazy because the jedi are not, strictly speaking, real.

    entirety = complete
    focused = complete attention
    attention=state of applying the mind to something
    failure=lack of success
