The San Diego Chargers have hired former New York Jets Assistant Director of Player Personnel JoJo Wooden to become the new Director of Player Personnel in San Diego, per Ian Rapoport.
#Chargers set to hire JoJo Wooden, ex-#Jets assistant director of player personnel. Essentially Jimmy Raye’s replacement (now with Colts)

Is it a good move for the squad? No Clue! It is not often that you hear information on the Assistant Director of Player Personnel.
Here is a little more information from Rapoport to give us his insight on the hire:
Those asking if #Chargers hire of JoJo Wooden is good: I like SD’s moves so far. In the past, Jets made strong evaluations. But we’ll see
I’d argue it’s salary cap malfunctions more than personnel evaluations that did in the Jets. They missed like everyone else, but hit too.

@brucenv That Revis guy was pretty good. Mangold.

We didn’t know much about Tom Telesco when he was brought into town, but we have a little faith in him and trust the decisions that he is making. Now he is bringing in a few more of his own people to help him get the job done.
    Go Go JoJo!

I am hesitant to like anything that was Jets related. Was he there for the circus?

    AP
New Jets general manager John Idzik is continuing to reshape his front office, with two more personnel guys leaving after two were let go last week.

According to Seth Walder of the New York Daily News, assistant director of player personnel JoJo Wooden and area scout Kevin Kelly are leaving for jobs with the Chargers.

Kelly spent just one season with the Jets, but Wooden had been with the team since 1997.

Wooden had a year left on his contract, and his new job with the Chargers is termed a promotion.

He's had a checkered career, no doubt.
