A great update making the forums easy to read and even easier to type in. So far the UT forum might be the best sports platform of this decade?

I have to call BS on the easier to read.

The new posts blend in with the post title.

The line separating the superfluous poster information from the body of the post isn't very distinct, making everything blend in.

that's my biggest gripe about the new format and it completely contradicts your "easy to read" assessment.

I guess I wasn't sarcastic enough.

People's signatures get blended in as well and I am sure people have no idea what is going on given some posts don't even match what is being talked about in the slightest.

To highlight what I'm talking about, here's what it looks like here (and pretty much every other vBulletin board I post at)



Notice the space that separates the poster information and post title from the body of the post allowing the eye to easily flow to what was posted.

Now, look at the new look UT forum and see the difference.



Notice how the post is butted right up against the line with the post title butted up on the top of it.

It makes it all blend in and annoying. It's kind of like someone who posts a long winded post in one huge paragraph, it's annoying on the reader. I need space.

I suppose this is easily fixable with some formatting, but that's my complaint at first glance. (That and the color scheme as stated in the screen shot.)

At first glance the new look UT is horrible.

But I will admit there is always initial resistance when something isn't what you're used to, so I'll give it some time and see if I get used to it or not.

Usually it is just the content that does that....

This is very true and probably the most prudent approach. Thank you very much for the suggestions. No need to take shots at the UT just because we don't all have the same preferences.

FYI - We will be going through a redesign at soe point in the future. I don't believe that it will be as drastic as the change over at the UT.

There are serveral reasons why this must happen here, including the fact that we are using outdated software that has known issues and that has to be addressed.

We do take you concerns seriously and will try to give as much warning as possible as well as get as much input as we can for our members.

This is not scheduled to happen until after the season. When the redesign does happen, hopefully it will be viewed with an open mind and we won't lose many posters.

If there are any suggestions, please feel free to post them here. I can not promise that all suggestions will be incorporated into the final design, however all suggestions will be read and considered.
