Reports are coming in from KC that a Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend then committed suicide. Arrowhead stadium is in lockdown as is the Chiefs practice facility. Suicide is such a selfish thing I believe. You hurt so many people just to get out of your tough situation. "God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers" is what I always repeat to myself when I'm stressed or going through a very difficult time. That's crazy if he shot himself in front of Pioli and Co., prayers to his family and his Girlfriend's as well..
Belcher is a coward and murderer and took the easy way out. The woman, so tragically taken from her child and the Chiefs personnel people and his immediate family are the true victims of this crime.
I feel sorry for the baby girl and those who had to witness the shooting. Dealing with a suicide is not fun.
I would assume he shot himself in the head, but if he didn't I'd like to know if it is concussion related. Remember Seau's brain analysis came back clean. They said he showed no concussion related brain damage.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...girlfriend-takes-own-life-154951891--nfl.html Perkins' mother called police after witnessing the incident and told them that her daughter had been shot. Police arrived at the Chiefs' facility only to find Belcher in the parking lot with a gun to his head. As one officer got out of his car, he heard a gunshot.
The suicide rate in the US per 100,000 males is 19. That's 1 suicide for every 5000 males, and the NFL has 2500 males in it. This probably isn't concussion related, it's just someone who wasn't happy and gave up. It happens several times every day in the US, typically without any questions related to contact sports.
Concussions are no excuse for murder of innocent people or even self murder (suicide) for that matter.
This is so sad and so tragic. Something drove this young man to madness.....and now we'll never know what it was. I'm just sick about it.
