Ha, dude never left. Last night was just a little bump in the road. Both Bard and Barrett said he had his stuff. I think he'll be fine. I'm Keepin the Faith.
It's amazing how little respect the 2nd biggest Padres icon in the franchise's history gets on Padres message forums and on the radio. Every time he records a BS they come flying out the woodworks. "Trevor's done!!! Bring in (insert current Padres set up man here)!!!" It's been the same story every year since 2004 now. Unfortunately they're eventually going to be right and then they're going to say "I told you so" like as though they saw it coming that particular year/timeframe.
I just want what's best for MY Padres. No disrespect to Trevor, if he saves 30 games and blows 10, I'm still gonna be pissed if we miss the playoffs by 2 games. NORV SUCKS!!! :icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:
That's what we all want so pointing that out serves no purpose. When was the last time Trevor blew 10 save opportunities in a season? NEVER (the most he's ever had in a season is 7) When was the last time he saved less than 30 games in a season? (Not counting 2003 when he missed pretty much the entire year) 1994, his first year as the Padres closer When was the last time he saved less than 40 in a season? (again, not counting 2003) 2002, with 38
Trevor still has the best save percentage ever right? Closers blow saves it happens to every single closer. Switching to Bell or whoever else won't change that.
stats can be deceiving, he had 50 chances last year, he saved 42 he also lost 5 games there are no stats for how many games he gave up a tying run that turned into a loss but, I learned my lesson with Spoles & Turner no more bagging!!
He only had 49 chances last year. You were probably looking at GF (games finished) and not save opportunities. Redundant, those are all part of the blown saves Yes there is, they call it a "blown save" (although they don't all turn into losses, I suppose.) :icon_toast:
