I have to admite I enjoyed watching the USA Womens team beat the crap out of there opponents, and how annoying it is to hear the chinese national team yell at each other.
So, tonight's the championship game, between the US and Japan, whom the US demolished yesterday 11-0. The US has been steamrolling opponents and has outscored them something like 54-1 this tourney. However, Japan's best pitcher will be on the mound tonight. It will be interesting to see if it's "more of the same" for the US squad, or if she can stop the momentum.
Well the US ended up winning the championship, a rematch with Japan, 5-2. It was more difficult this time and the first time the US had been held to less than 6 runs this tournament, due to Japan's star pitcher being on the mound. Still, the home girls managed to put up a nickel on her. US pitcher Cat Osterman recorded 11 strikeouts today in 7 innings of work. So, for the tourney, the US has outscored their opponents 59-3.
