    At this point there isn't a way to do this. I'm looking into it further and if I do find a way to allow you to turn off smilies, I'll update you.

      Yes ther is. At the top of your screen there is a colored bar that should say "Bolt Tlak Charger Fan Forum" At the right hand side of that is three boxes. The far right one should be an X. Simply position your cursor over that X, and use the right mouse button to 'click' it.

      That will turn off the smilies.

        I see the Bolt Talk Charger Fan forum.... but I sure don't see three boxes or an X to the right of it... I must not have access to that stuff.
