Although they found no takers for running back Michael Bennett, the Vikings made one intriguing move Tuesday just before the NFL's trading deadline.

The Vikings acquired offensive lineman Toniu Fonoti from San Diego in exchange for their seventh-round draft pick in 2006. Fonoti, 23, is recovering from a broken left hand but could work his way into the team's long-term plans at guard.</blockquote>
