Garcon would be the best out of that lot .............

D Jackson, Johnson, Burress, Edwards, all are me-me types with baggage, No Thanks.

Manningham might be expecting to big a pay day also after his Superbowl winning catch...................fair player, but not sure I'd be spending big $$'s on his type just yet.

Wayne has been a great player for a long time, but his age could count against him, then again, if you could get him to sign for a reasonable price at 2 years, it might be worth considering.

Jackson's game is about being larger/stronger than the DBs covering him and jumping up to catch the balls Rivers throws him. Speed receivers go downhill a lot faster than these guys. Will he be slower at 35 than he is now? Sure, but will it matter, probably not.

As far as the other guys go, I think that Bowe and Colston have the skillset to be number one receivers. I also think that Colston is coming from a different system and would cost as much as Jackson. Bowe might come here just to piss on KC, but he has some question marks.

I think the question on Jackson is this:

If we were to not sign Jackson, and instead signed someone somewhat cheaper, would AJ use the then available cap space to sign multiple quality players elsewhere on the team, or would it all go into contract extensions for guys like Larry English, because he's an AJ guy...?

Yeah we'd need a stronger personality HC to manage DeSean. Love him as a player, and if used conrrectly could be a 1500yd 10+ total TD guy. But I don't trust Norv to do that either.

I'm actually a big Manningham fan, he beats bad and good CBs alike, he's never really shut down for an entire game. But still a sizeable step down from VJ.

The Eagles will franchise tag Jackson....... he's not going anywhere, unless somebody is willing to trade picks for him and give him a new $$$ contract.

Actually, I think he'll hit the open market. That said, I also don't think much of him as a receiver. He can run a go-route... and a few other intermediate routes but his route-running is pretty lazy, and he's fairly easy to take out of a game if you just press-up on him and don't let him get a clean release off the line of scrimmage.

Other reason I think he hits the market is he has absolutely no chemistry with Vick and the Eagles are committed to Vick for the immediate future; Vick's too short to find tiny little Jackson on anything other than downfield routes and while Vick's got a cannon for an arm, that cannon still has pretty shoddy deep accuracy.

Jackson also doesn't fit into a Norvian downfield passing attack, the guy is West Coast all the way.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/splits/_/id/11283/desean-jackson if you compare his splits for how far the ball traveled through the air, you can see a big difference between Jackson and Jackson http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/splits/_/id/8475/vincent-jackson

Desean may be a play maker as evidenced by his greater number of passes which traveled 30+ yds, but I don't know where he would fit in here in the land of the deep in.

Well, I've been advocating (despite the nostalgia) for us to depart from the Coryell for a while now; though acquiring DeSean Jackson is not my motivation for that, I just feel it fits Rivers' skill-set better, makes better use of what Gates is capable of doing at this point in his career, and plays more in line with the kind of guys that Joiner likes at receiver and the facets he seems to train rather well (specifically route-running, timing, and finding holes in zones).

But yes... Jackson's not a great Coryell fit. Though I will say, I had similar reservations about Steve Smith and he proved me wrong in Carolina this year. Granted, Smith is a much physically stronger receiver in spite of his diminutive size than Jackson is.

Go figure. Dumb decision. They'll be lucky if they find someone willing to offer them more than a 3rd if they also have to meet Jackson's likely $9-10M/yr contract demands too. And Jackson's got enough of an ego on him that even if there were multiple teams interested in him in some capacity, he'd probably try and demand to go to one specific one which would kill his return-value in trade.

You know what I often wonder about.. For all the talk of his height and size over DBs, Jackson does not go up and get the ball the way Malcom does. I like Bowe alot, if we could prise him from KC to replace VJ I say go for it. I like the idea of tagging VJ and trading him if we cannot get a long term agreed.

I see a LOT of KC fans as my wife is a fan.

Bowe is too lackadaisical for me.

                                          Kinda like VJ.
