Wallace is going to want VJ type money or more. You think that's going to happen?

But what does that mean? $11 mil instead of the $12 he has asked for? Sorry, any more than $8mil/yr and we are spending WAY too much

Very true. With Dielman retiring it would have been a good move but not with a few more holes.
If VJ was never a Charger would it have made sense to go after him? probably not as many posters would saying he is asking to much. I would feel a little better if we still had Tutu.

Had he not sat out nearly all of 2010 which allowed us to see Rivers lead the league in passing without him, then I may say he was needed. But 2010 proved that he wasn't, and especially not for $11+mil/yr

Either way I think it worked out for both. He proved to us he wanted money and that when he sat out PR could still pass.

that was with Darren Sproles out the backfield.. I think he led us in receptions that year as a RB.. We had Sproles, Mathews and Tolbert out of the backfield, which were searching to do now but looks like we'll be losing Tolbert as well and no Sproles-type back.

Basically, Chargers lost 2 HUGE receiving options for Rivers the last two off-seasons.. this team is digressing rapidly..

And they will be replaced, and by people that won't demand crazy money

Sproles wasn't replaced last year, we had no patience with Todman found himself on the PS and signed by the Vikings.. So I'm still waiting for that replacement and a VJ replacement will be interesting.

I am not. You and I could go out on the field and catch the 2-3 catches a game that VJ had

They don't need to be. We just need more of them. It will allow us to spend more oney improving out defense, which has been the thing holding us back since Wade left

But some of those games he had 2-3 catches they were effective ones.. like his 3 reception 108 yard game against Miami or his 3 for 84 and so on..

Jackson got a lot of attention from defenses which opened somethings up for others.. He won't be replaced easily

Also Tolbert to meet with KC soon, reports say he'll end up there.. GREAT

If it doesn't, Norv and AJ are gone after 2012, so it is a complete reset anyways

And he will be replaced by Frank Summers who will be making about 1/5 the money. I would love to keep him, but obviously he doesn't want to be here or AJ just doesn't want him

By who exactly? You keep proclaiming this nonsense like you know what your talking about, who exactly is worth signing once Meachem and Wayne are gone?

Is TJ Houshmanzadeh gonna get 10yrs younger over night and save us? Oh yeah, give me some of that Devin Aromashadu action!

Looks like Floyd will be the #1 (face-palm) and Brown at #2 and possibly go out and sign a guy? or possibly draft a guy/trade for somebody. I don't know AJ better have something up his sleeve

Chargers use their 2012 1st round draft pick on WR Buster 2.0.

And what do you think is on Philip Rivers mind right now?

    Last year we lost Sproles.
    This year Vincent Jackson.
Next year Floyd, and possibly Gates will start considering retirement.
No Dielman, no McNeil, Gaither seems shaky right now...

You think PR is a happy man?

He was lights out in our last preseason game when Norv gave him his 1 shot and yet we still kept Walters. I remember at the time seriously wondering had we let the better guy go and we had.
