Well, at least he called it for what it was - an ***-whupping. Now let's see what the team does about it.

Wrong... you play like that (all those things you mentioned) and your *** definitely gets itself kicked... losing 35-17 is what is known in the business as an "***-kicking". Look it up... it's in the Norv Turner dictionary! in fact I think right next to the definition is a picture of Ted Cottrell.

well, Adai put up like 250 against the pats, so we'll see if he's got a shot to break some records against us. O, and just an advisory, please refrain on the "you can't run" chants this week. thanks bye.

    No kidding.

Without Castillo and Jammer, teams are going to run right all day until we stop them. Further, I'd expect that since Jammer probably won't be available, Cottrell will feature even softer off man zone coverages that invite the dunk passes all game. The Colts will just be patient with the run and short passes, and bleed us to death.

Our offense better do more than run for -1 on first down, and have three and outs, or it ain't gonna be pretty.

Gotta love Merriman’s attitude. I hope this rubs off on the rest of the team.
This is not a transcript, just picking some highlights from Merriman’s interview on Chargers.com

I don’t care too much about the playoffs, I don’t care about the Super Bowl, I care about beating the Indianapolis Colts.

You can blame it on Norv Turner but, I’d love to see him go out and try to tackle somebody. It’s the eleven guys on the field are the ones who have to tackle. The coaches cannot go out and tackle for us. Ron Rivera, John Palgano those guys can’t tackle for us. We have to go out and make plays, as players.

I can accept criticism, but nobody’s going the be harder on me than myself. I’m going to look at the film and see what I did wrong. How can I get better? I take this more serious than a game. Football has been my life since I was 11 years old. And this is not a game to me.

I watched the film I was almost sick. If a guy goes out and kicks a field goal and we lose. If we played hard I can accept a loss but not the way we lost. I cannot accept going out and getting our *** kicked. That, I can’t do. I think they found something and they targeted it and they kept doing it. I’m not worried about getting it corrected, we will, we will find that edge, we will get that attitude back, This is the first half of the season and football is not over.

On standing up and talking to the guys, Yea I did that. Other guys did that too. You can talk all you want but football is about show me. We are a team that let some games slip through our hands. As good as the New England patriots are, and they are good, they had two or three touchdowns with not a guy 10 yards around him. And that was sack, fumble, touchdown Kansas City, slant for 60 yards. Green Bay, slant for 50 yards to win the game. Those things happen.

We have to learn how to play not as the most talented team but as the hardest working team. The team that wants it the most. That’s the difference from us being 7-1, or 8-0 and us being 4-4. That’s the biggest difference right now.

Yea I go out and talk some trash but that’s to go after certain people but to motivate my teammates and even myself. But also for 60 minutes you’re going to get everything I’ve got. We have to go out there and finish games. Football is a 60-minute game not a 30-minute game. He had 40yards in the first half then 150 in the forth quarter.

We’re done with the first half of the season and we’re going out to get after people in the second half of the season.

Reporter is the Vikings game a turning point for you guys? I think it was because those guys got jacked up, amped for the game. And I’m confident that it will, starting right now.

I'd call being beaten 35-17 by a team playing their 3rd string QB & allowing a rookie RB to set the new single game rushing record of 296 yds. is an embarrassing ***-whooping for a team of this talent.

Anyone who doesn't agree, please share your definition. I'm all ears (or eyes, as the case may be). :icon_huh:

Man, time to get back on the "Juice" Merriman! As a matter of fact, give some of it to the rest of the defense and give them a book titled, "Tackling A Running Back in the NFL, the Basics"

They seemed to understand lesson that a month ago, but their memory, like Norval's, has lapsed.

No kidding RC. It seems like we look great one week and go back to crap the next. No consistency. To me that's a philosophy that goes way above just the coaches. It's a deep rooted philosophy imo. We just have to go back to basics.......

or get Wade, Donnie and Godfrey back.....:icon_sad:

    Dear Shawne,
You speak the truth. I believe you about your steriod use and I totally believe you about you guys gettin your *** kicked sunday. I was there, I know. But I dont blame you, I blame the coaches that are trying to lead you. They have no leadership skills.
