Welk guys, none of San Diego's players made it to the probowl, including P Mike Scifres and FS Eric Weddle. How do you guys feel about that?
1. About par for the course re national media exposure for Chargers players. 2. The Pro Bowl has been a worthless piece of **** for a long long time.
The bolded in particular. I'd love to just blame it on the fan vote but the players are just as bias and putting value in the most random of qualities (just look at the Top 100 players as voted on by the players - Tebow and John Kuhn made the list). When you have Jeff Saturday, who's been terrible all season and was just benched by Green Bay, making the Pro Bowl and Daryl Washington, who has posted the single-best ILB performance this season (statistically and game-impact wise), getting snubbed for guys who got in off reputation and that their "team's" defense is a top one this year. Well... that pretty much tell you all you need to know. They really just ought to let the media and coaches vote on it and that be it.
To a certain extent it's just a popularity contest and not really that indicative of a player's qualities. Our 2 guys Weddle and Scifres should've made it, but at the end of the day, considering the pro-bowl will probably be scrapped, it doesn't really make a great difference if they go or not.
Final proof that the Pro Bowl is full of BS The KC Chiefs, the worst team in the NFL, have 5 freakin players going to the pro bowl The end
And one of them is Eric Berry, who everybody assumed would become the next Ed Reed. Not a chance, the guy got taken to school by Gates on one leg. The Pro Bowl is a joke.
