    Pros:
The most important pro: M80's okay
River's first game winning drive in 2 years (played insane)
Royal's constant nose for the endzone
    Pass protection (my favorite)
    Converting on 3rd down
Brown & Allen looked very nice
Weddle's all pro tackling (stopping Shady McCoy 1v1, very hard task)
    Danny Woodhead is awesome
    Novak 3/3 + game winner
    Road win
    Improved 3rd & long defense
    Close to no penalties!!

    Cons:
    Fumbles..
Ryan Mathews has played 40 games in his NFL career. He has 13 fumbles, 8 that have been lost & 3 lost in the redzone.... He's already lost the same amount of fumbles that LT lost IN HIS 11 YEAR CAREER.
85's hands... Great job getting open but tuck that ball in, 2 dropped passes today one that would've given Rivers 8 tds on the year.
4th quarter pass rush, line seems to be tired out there.
    Our secondary
MM's lack of trust in Rivers not letting him pass for a few more yards for an easier kick.

Pros: Whiz O suits the immense Rivers to a tee. Simply magnificent performance by our leader at #17.
Long sustained drives, no fumbles and we win this going away.
Novak, he is proving me wrong, did not think he was capable of doing what he did yesterday, would like a touchback now and again though.
Malcom, the stud, seems to be ok. Have loved Malcom since day 1, humble, down to earth playmaker.

Cons: Pass D, simply horrific. I don't understand 2 things (1) why is Gilchrist supposedly the SS over anybody else and (2) why is he seemingly playing the FS position where he has no clue what he is doing. Pagano and Milus better come up with something fast or they can walk. Wright and Cox both need some help.
Having to go with Walker (not that he was all that terrible) at ILB alongside Butler. Why was DJ Smith cut and Bront Bird is still on the team?, I even saw Gachkar in there at ILB for a time, talk about no depth jeeeeez. Get the F back Te'o you have to be better than these guys.
Scifres only had to punt once and it wasn't good, he looked a bit off last week too. I wonder is he carrying an injury.
The fumbles, Mathews still doesn't get it, and I don't think he ever will. I reckon he is good for a fumble every other game. Gates won't let that happen again.
Larry English, still has no idea and makes zero contribution, put Tourek in there and let's see has he got anything to offer.
The D line, where are Reyes and Liuget? and where was Lissemore, he was dressed and never saw the field even once right?

Do any of you folks asking about Royal's whereabouts last year remember that he was injured quite a bit of the season? Many just lumped him in with Meachem as a mistake.

5 TD's in 2 games is hardly a mistake or an accident. New staff with some experience with Royal's ability = new opportunities to show he's a playmaker.

    Pros:
    - I liked the playcalling...it seemed as if the Chargers offense kept the Eagles defense guessing for most of the game...
    - Defensive line, for much of the game had decent pass rush.
    - Rivers - solid all day
    - Novak - even though I thought they should have taken a couple cracks downfield before settling for the field goal, it's clear the coaches have a lot of faith in Novak's ability

    Cons:
    - Mathews...no long runs but a fumble lost in the red zone...that's the byline of his career.
    - Defensive secondary, Jackson ran free all day...if it wasn't for poor passes (some due to pressure), he's stat line would have been even more obscene.

Overall a good early season win for the Chargers.

As Royal has stated repeatedly, he injured his ankle in the first training camp practice last year and was never fully healthy. That's the big difference. This year he's able to use his quickness get open when last year he was hobbled.

Another pro: replacing Bird with Walker. Aside from McCoy juking Walker out of his socks first play of game, Walker did well. Guy likes to be around the ball. Takes the right angle into poa, engages quickly. Looking forward to watching him more on Sunday (barring miraculous return of Te'o).

I also wanna see some of Manning. GB fans tell me he was a possible starter before his injury last year. We may be a little deeper at ILB than we know just yet.

I just am not sure I can support a player named Manning...

As long as it isn't Eli or Peyton vs. the Chargers I can manage.

just some stats chargers have the best 3rd down conversion rate in the nfl we are also in the 3-6 range for first downs, points and total yards. Our defense has been garbagio but with teo, taylor and ingram all coming in and playing effectively I could see our defense getting ALOT better by the end of the season

Watching the game now..... But I agree with The Beast.

Question.. Do you think Rivers "FLOPPED" with COX??
I see the sportmanship in Rivers... great game thus far..... I can see what the hype is.....

Wright needs some CB work.. Honestly.. he's fast 2 of the fastest and best WR's in the AFC. This could have been Jammer and Cason... Happy we do something to work with here.....

re Rivers flop: Hell yeah. Made it a bit too obvious. I think next time if he doesn't throw his arms up as he falls it might be more convincing. Also initiating the exchange right in front of the ref doesn't help. Unfortunately, even David Binn's old girl could give Rivers acting lessons.

I wonder how Bird can remain active/dressed for gameday, the guy simply does not have it at this level. Special teamer maybe but that's it. I wanna see Manning dressed instead of him if it comes down to the 2 of em.

That was a flop worthy of Ginobli's worst.

Yeah isn't Manning supposed to be a Stuckeylike special teamer?

Actually I think that's Walker. I forget which just now. Either way, I believe we have options for guys who can both play ST's at a productive level AND are better options at ILB than Bird.

Yep, you're right, it's Walker. He supposedly was a demon STs player for the Cards. I'd also like to see what Manning has cos Bird ain't got a whole lot.
