The lead keeps changing hands at the top of the MVP Meter.
Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson earns the top spot this week, taking over for Eagles QB Donovan McNabb, who fell all the way out of the rankings after yet another rough first half in a loss at Denver.
Tomlinson has already racked up 946 total yards and 11 rushing and receiving touchdowns for the 4-4 Chargers, perhaps the most intriguing team in all of the NFL. There's so much talent on offense. The defense is strong vs. the run. Everyone wants to know: Are they a stretch-runner? Or will they never get started in time to have a say in the AFC playoff race?
If the Chargers pick up the pace, Tomlinson will get strong MVP consideration. Don't overlook the value of the three TD passes he's thrown this season as it pertains to his candidacy. I wouldn't be surprised if those TD tosses don't sway a few voters. If making the case he's the league's best all-around player, don't you mention his halfback passes?</blockquote>
