"Between grief and nothing I will take grief." - William Faulkner

This season was not a failure for at least 3 reasons.

1.) You know how many teams would KILL to even make the playoffs? Let alone get out the first round? This group of no-names did a damn good job of playing up to their potential and bringing entertainment back IMMEDIATELY after Hurricane AJ & Hurricane Norv wrecked the team and alienated the fanbase (myself admittedly included) We weren't supposed to be this good according to them. I predicted 8-8 maybe one game better. The preseason "experts" predicted we'd be one of the worst teams in the league and it reflected in every power ranking.

2.) Significant strides were made by a rookie head coach and rookie GM from the Jared Gaither nightmare, dumpster diving mostly in free agency, and a gamble of a draft, everything turned out gold. Left Tackle was a big crapshoot and for pennies comparatively, King Dunlap was damn good when he was healthy. Woodhead was the steal of the year and Telesco's first 3 picks were all legit.

3.) We're still not the Raiders

Go Bolts. *sigh* We'll get em next year, guys.

I think you (and others) are obsessed with finding things in my posts which aren't there; McCoy has a very long neck and he told people to keep their heads high. Even if I needed to put a drum roll smiley there for you, how can you make this about me liking Norv and his neck?

And Blitzy, I know you think you think like a woman but even were that true, it would just mean your advice on women shouldn't be trusted

My Gawd, you seem like a lot of fun to be stuck with on a deserted island  I mean, what decorum, what charm and what terms of endearment you seem to possess.

Seriously though, you are like a pain in the arse little sister and I find the word "brother" quite amusing in your moniker

This is the first year in a long while that I feel like we will be better next year. With AJ and Norv, I was sure that they were going to screw stuff up and drain the talent of this team a little more every year. Telesco started turning this place around the second he got here and McCoy did the rest. Were going to be a better, stronger, deeper team next year. I can say that with faith which is fantastic. Another draft class like this from Tommy T (Fluker, Te'o, KA, Addae, Geathers, Tourek Williams) not to mention the FA's brought in (Dunlap, Rhinehart, Ohrnberger, Woodhead, TuTu, Keiser, Guy, Lissemore, Marshall, Walker) and we will be rolling. I'll give TT a pass on Cox, no one can be right 100%, and we also have Stevie Williams coming back from injury next year who will be a major upgrade to the secondary rotation. McCoy will have another year getting his plans into place and this team is going to be something to be reckoned with next year. Got an awfully tough schedule but im pretty sure we can push even farther into the playoffs with another year under their belt. I thank the Chargers for giving me something to look forward to for the first time in a long while.

Stop acting like your "jokes" aren't intended to make people flip. That's the whole point of your schtick.

Will be interesting to see if Freeney/Danario/Floyd having anything left in the tank, too.

    Yep, Flo
Floyd is 50/50 he ever plays again. Hope he does but he may decide to call it quits. Wouldn't be mad at him. Really scary injury. Alexander will try to come back for sure, but how many knee surgeries can a guy take before he gives up? At leats this was a different knee this year. Freeney is a little different animal. He is the oldest of the bunch. I think he's got one more in him, especially if we limit his snaps.

Always disappointed when we lose, especially when we had the ability to pull out a win. It is what it is. I still love my team and I'm really proud of the things they accomplished. I certainly didn't expect it going into the season.

Got to say, this "new era" wave has brought a lot of excitement to the city of San Diego. Now, Deano needs to get a new stadium, to attract more fans to flock to the games, and get a great atmosphere going in Charger Park.

This team definitely made strides this season and I'm extremely excited to see what the future holds for the Chargers. We hung in there and battled 'til the end, making it to the playoffs against the odds and proving a lot of people wrong (myself included... I predicted a 7-9 record). To say that I'm proud of our team would be a massive understatement!

Love some of the quotes eg. not satisfied but not ashamed etc.

No doubt we are moving in the right direction at last. Tom Telesco did a great job re-shaping this roster in 1 year, another year like that and wow... who knows what can be achieved.

There's a certain member I recognized as an idiot from the first and only exchange I had with him. Immediately placed his foolishness on the ignore list and yet he still follows me and begs for my attention even though I never reply.

    The definition of troll.

Like I said before, if I were a donk fan this morning I wouldn't be to happy with a squeaker win to an injured up team.

Yeah, Freeney's injury this year was sort of a freak thing. I like the idea of him as a situational pass rusher.
