1991 the year Boomer took them to the Super Bowl....... that's the last year they actually won in the playoffs.

It's no wonder there were tickets left...... their fans are in the "show me" mode at this point.

Yes, this smacks of desperation. Lewis is nervous and he's grasping at anything. Seems to me that's the wrong thing to be focusing on at this point.

It's also worth noting that the Chargers have won all three rematches with teams they played once already this season (Donks, Chiefs and Turds). The coaches did an especially good job in the rematch with the Donks. Hopefully they can repeat that feat on Sunday.

    1) Remind the Bengals that it's a PLAYOFF game.

I've seen the phrase "Chargers are playing with house money" all over the media since Sunday. In order to win, the Bolts need to believe that, cut loose, and do what they do best.

    (...and make some damn tackles!)

Inclement weather would seem to help us more than them. Typically, bad weather lends itself to running the ball rather than passing. And we have a better running game than they do, and a much worse pass defense. Plus Rivers has never had an issue in cold weather. Let them think that the San Diego boys can't handle it... they'll see.

Also, our passing game features alot of short throws and crossing routes, things that should be less affected by the weather. Dalton is inaccurate on deep throws even in good weather. I can't imagine how he'll be in the rain and snow.

Yep, the Bengals can get as cocky as they want about their "weather advantage." An objective look at both teams points to it favoring us more than them.

We probably are expressing the same sentiment, that the Boltz must play their best to win, so this isn't directed at your post but at the media concept about house money. The "Chargers are playing with house money" concept is troublesome to me. You see it all the time on TV game shows. Some average-Joe is up $40,000, more than he could put aside for savings in 10 years. But since he's gambling with money he already won (house money), he often takes idiotic risks he normally wouldn't with "his own" $40,000. But $40k is $40k regardless whether he worked 10 years to save it, or found it under the backing of an old painting he found at a garage sale.
So yeah, the Boltz need to cut loose and do what they do best, I agree 100%, but at the same time they need to really own the fact that they made the playoffs and based on the NFL formula deserved to make the playoffs and treat this game as it is, a somewhat rare and precious opportunity to win a playoff game.
As an aside, I tip my hat to whoever who came up with the catch phrase, "playing with house money." He or she probably made more money for the gaming industry by coining that little phrase than did the person who came up with the lotto phrase, "You can't win if you don't play."

It's kind of a nebulous phrase, but to me it just means that there isn't tremendous pressure to win now so you can play within yourself. For instance, the Broncos with Manning are under a huge amount of pressure to win before he starts slowing down. We just turned over the whole staff, so winning a championship in the first year isn't a general expectation. That doesn't mean to take stupid risks, but just play loose (which often leads to the best performances).

At least Cinci no longer plays in a "cookie cutter" events stadium. In that infamous game in '82, to allow the strong wind to come through when the Chargers were driving that way, they would open the doors that were on that one side of the stadium. I also remember reading at the time about the Chargers electric benches mysteriously not working.

Lol. True. Though he's at an age where the "slow down" usually comes via a specific incident that his body can't bounce back from. Rather than a gradual decline.

Peyton is on roids. There's no other logical explanation how he comes back from that injury and is suddenly passing batter than he ever has.

alright the real reason we lost to the bengals earlier this year?(besides the 2 red zone turnovers)
Mike "noballs" McCoy decided to punt everytime we faced a forth down in no mans land. No going for it or even kicking the long field goal just routine playing to lose punts. If we start getting stuck at the 40 like we did all the time the first game we will LOSE unless McCoy starts going for it (or weddle decides to be a bada$$ again)

At least you gave Speed Bump credit for it! I thought it was funny that every other Chargers fan seemed to give credit to McCoy for being gutsy when before this year, it was all Weddle doing it without Norv's blessings.
