We won 5 games this season against teams that are in the playoffs, 3 of them on the road. Odd that none of the pundits have brought that up.

They are prisoners of the moment if I've ever seen such a thing. Last year determines next year. The same teams will always win. Yadda yadda bullshit.

None of those wins were against Cincy that's why.

Would that not make a win even more poetic and awesome?

We are better equipped for the weather than they are. We have a vastly more accurate QB who is good in cold, a better running game, and our D needs the help more than they do. Bring it on.

No, that's not why. It's because it doesn't fit into the "common wisdom" that Cincy is going to win easy. If the Chargers had beaten Cincy in SD last month, the pundits would still be ignoring their record against playoff teams and instead focusing on Cincy's home record.

Absolutely disagree. Your comments seem more emotional than common "sensible".

So Rivers is 9-2 in 40 degrees or below, but he has 3 losses in 32 degrees or colder? Something's not right there. Unless the latter stat is lumping PO and regular season games. One of which I believe would have been the 2007 AFCCG where he was playing on a torn ACL.

Regardless, my point stands. Rivers is way better than Dalton, especially when it comes to accuracy. He's much better suited for cold conditions.

I honestly think this helps us. Cincy banks hard on those deep balls to Green, they like to spread out their weapons and throw.

Where as we've become more of a run 1st with quick safe pass team. But just a hunch.

Well wet field helps the pass game since defenders have to backpedal and try to anticipate which way the receiver will break toward. It's easier to create separation so a bad defender who takes bad angles will be exposed in such conditions. However a receiver can also lose his footing just as well.

Nothing emotional about it. I just think pundits pretty much all parrot the same "common wisdom." The pundits will largely ignore the Chargers win in Denver last month, and their 6 wins against playoff teams this year, choosing instead to focus on Denver's record-setting offense. Watch. The pundits will again be "shocked" when the Chargers win next week. Even though a win in Denver would not be that shocking.

The Chargers are a west coast team that is largely ignored by the media. That's just a fact. Which is why the media were all so butthurt about the Chargers winning the game last week and getting away with a formation penalty on the missed figgie. If NE had won a game in that fashion to make the playoffs, the media would not focus on the penalty. They would say, "Well it's just one play, and the kicker should have made the kick anyway."

Just like the last couple times we played Manning in the playoffs. No one gave us a chance. And we beat him both times.
