We have to believe (even Norv himself iwould assume) that Norv Turner will get fired as Head Coach of the Chargers... But the question is when?

They have waited this long, they'll stick with Norv and AJ until the seasons over.

I'd say it's overdue but look who's in control.

Norv is also the offensive coordinator. He will stay until the season is over.

This is a trick question...the prudent owner never hires him as HC to begin with ;)

He will probably be extended tomorrow morning.. I mean we lost key players in that game, like Butler and Weddle. Just unlucky for Norv really......

4 games in 2012 we've had the lead heading into halftime and we've lost and failed to score more than 7 points in those games.. and 2 games last year.. same old story with this Norv ran team..

No, first you need a prudent owner. It's something else that we don't have...

I still think Bisaccia or Hunter can call plays. I mean its not like Norv is some type of genius right? Were 20th in almost every offensive category! ;)

I don't think we need AJ the rest of the year. We won't be hiring new FA...we are out of the hunt. The only reason not to release him now is it could complicate negotiations with a new HC who may demand more control. But sense we have a budding new GM want-a-be in young Spanos, give him an interim job as GM until we resolve the HC position. It would be good experience for him. He would also have an OUT to ensure he would not take the fall for the disaster the Chargers are today and may be for the next couple of years....it is a stretch but we can always hope!

I REALLY hope the "young Spanos" you are refering to is JOHN SPANOS...he seems to be the only one in the family NOT a business/marketing professional and definately couldn't do any worse than AJ. So if they wanna keep it in the family, he's the man to go for.....Get rid of Dean cause he obviously has no balls hanging on AJ's coat tails for soo long. Let Dean, if we have to, focus on the business/marketing side of the organization and let someone who has actual ATHLETIC knowledge of the game take over as CEO of Football Operations!

Totally agree. We could even have Philip Rivers call his own plays, and it couldn't be much worse than what we're being subjected to right now. Our offense just goes to sleep in the 2nd half of each game, and then our defense gets worn out as we consistently go 3 & out and blow double digit leads.

I would've liked to have seen Norv fired on Friday November 2nd, immediately after our Thursday night game. My choice would be to make Rich Bisaccia our interim coach, he would've had 10 days to prepare for our next game (against his old team) and then he would've had an 8 game audition to see if he could spark the team, and keep the job.

We will have to suffer Norval until December 30th, but we will get to ring in the new year with his being escorted to the California border and released into the wild.

I like Norv Turner. I say we fans should appreciate what he has done for the organization. Give him another shot. Maybe the new first round draftee (hopefully the kicker from Oregon) will help out the team for 2013. It was an awesome pre-season. you have to admit that. Give Turner one more year at least.

I've been a member for a few years but this is my first time posting, needing a way to vent off my frustration:(
I used to study in England and the late games starts at 1 in the morning which was bad enough, but now that I am back in Hong Kong I have to get up at 5 to watch the game. And the worst thing for the past few weeks was that the Bolts were actually doing fairly well in the first half which gives me hope, but they just **** all over it in the 2nd half:cry:

Anyway I want Norv gone but I think AJ should stay I like his my way or the high way style of management

It'll happen at the end of the year, no way a surge in December saves them this time. Not after this level of repeated collapses and after seeing empty stadiums for too long

I have no faith that we'd even have a chance at a surge anyway. He is gone at the end of the year and it can't come soon enough

Yes to canning AJ right now. It needs to be done. Even the dumbest Chargers fan would know at that point that Norv is a lame duck. It is the smartest thing Spanos could do at this point. Which means he'll likely do the opposite... keep AJ... and let him hire a new lame duck coach who will continue this organization on the path to mediocrity.

I have no faith in Spanos to do the right thing. But I hope he surprises me!

If you are the owner and given the choice, and you can only choose one, is it better to:

    Keep Norv, but fire AJ

    Keep AJ, but fire Norv

    Fire AJ, keep Norv...

Norv is gone at the end of the season. But firing AJ now lets everyone in the football world know that there will be GM and coaching opportunities in San Diego next year.

Since we haven't seen any headlines this morning I'm assuming they're waiting until it's mathematically official (not just effectively as it already is) or til the end of the season.

    If he's still here in 2013 I'll **** bricks.

Speaking of ********bricks, anyone get their season ticket renewal notices yet? If one of these guys got fired before the notices went out, there would probably be a major increase in ticket sales for this upcoming season...
