Blaise Winter, #96, former defensive end for the San Diego Chargers, has led an amazing life both on and off the field. He learned powerful lessons in perseverance, the rewards that come from hard work and dedication, and the value of risking everything in order to achieve his dream of becoming a professional football player.
Blaise was born with a cleft palate which made speaking and expressing himself verbally a difficult challenge. After enduring numerous surgeries to correct the cleft palate, he was left with a speech impediment that led many to believe that he was slow and perhaps unable to keep up with his so called "normal" peers.</blockquote>
