Chargers quarterback Charlie Whitehurst had studied hard leading up to the Chargers' rookie orientation in hopes of scoring well in the first exam of his professional career."  At the end of the weekend, he'd earned a report card full of high marks.

"Charlie really had a great weekend," Chargers Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer said."  "He gets the ball out of his hand quickly and makes good decisions."  He's still swimming a bit and has some things to work on, but he did good work this weekend."</blockquote>
