Great fight from the boys today. Listened to the whole thing on the radio. They deserved the win today.

Time for a youth movement, tired of all these old *** veterans that suck ***.

Trade Giles, Maddux, Wolf, and Iguchi.

Also maybe trade Greene, depending on what's offered, if it's nothing good keep him, same with Bell.

No point in keeping most of those guys anymore, just keep the core guys, young guys and the ones we have locked up already or are hurt.

I don't know about that, I'd keep Peavy, especially since we have him locked up for a long time. It'd be different if he was going to be a FA in a year or 2.

Build off of Peavy, Kouz, Adrian, CY, Headley, and Antonelli imo. Maybe Greene but I'd be open to dealing him because I'm not so sure he wants to stay here after his extension.

I'm not optimistic about this season at all....at least, I quit being optimistic about a month ago, anyways.

I'm just sarcastically commenting on the sudden outburst the past few games.

Can't trade a guy on the DL.

Besides that, Jake is loyal to this team, he proved it by signing for less than he could have gotten on the FA market.

    Keep him no matter what.

I'd say everyone else can be traded.

Although I wouldn't give up Adrian unless a king's ransom was offered.

    Fair enough.

If some dumbass GM wants to trade their entire farm and one or two of their established stars for him in a Herschell Walker-esque trade then I say go for it.

Agreed, but the "right package" has to be the aforementioned "kings ransom"

Just because the team needs to be rebuilt doesn't mean they need to mindlessly trade anyone and everyone.

I'm willing to give the FO a mulligan considering this is the first year since PetCo has opened that the team has sucked.

But I do agree with you for the most part in regards to player personnel.

    I'm not overvaluing anybody.

Adrian Gonzalez is 2nd in the NL in RBIs while playing on a team that can't get on base to save thier lives. (He'd lead the NL if Lance Berkman wasn't playing out of his mind this year.)

Jake Peavy is the reigning Cy Young award winner.

Just because the team sucks doesn't mean it's impossible for them to have a couple very very good players.

Like I said, if some team wants to trade a lot for them, then sure, go for it.

But I wouldn't actively shop either of em.

    Just any ol Center Fielder?

    Why?

Adrian is a legit power threat.

They need to build around him.

    DePodesta is a mere advisor.

Do you mean "go get em, Towers"?

So, you think Depodesta and all his brilliant work with the Dodgers gives us a better shot at winning than Kevin Towers?

Kouz's defensive issues have centered more around picking up ground balls than throwing the ball.

Moving him to first wouldn't solve them.

Especially when you take into consideration Adrian's gold glove talent.

I agree, but that's banking on us getting an all star center fielder.

I'd rather have Adrian's guaranteed production than a potential good production of prospects.

I'd only trade Adrian if we got established talent in return.

Did he draft that young talent?

That's an honest question since I know Kevin Towers hasn't drafted a single Padres draft pick since 2003.

    You're right... a dream.

I'd do it, but unfortunately Cleveland wouldn't.
