    Out of work HC

    Cowher
    Gruden
    Dungy
    Billick
    Parcells
    Johnson
    Ditka

    Fisher

Sorry, I am missing a few.

Or someone else that is under the radar. Perhaps a college HC or an assistant/ (ala Jim Harbaugh)

Fisher or someone new who has balls. Maybe Rob Ryan. If it wasn't such a big switch from college to NFL I'd consider Urban Meyer but I'm not sure he'd translate well.

I'm not a fan of the retreads (past NFL coaches). There is a reason as to why they were fired! I want us to go to the colleges who have coaches with NFL experience AKA Jim Harbough. We need someone tough to make us the team that nobody wants to play. Defense, running game = Championships!

I think what makes JH such an awesome HC is his recent NFL playing experience. He had the fire/desire to win. Many of the young players look up to him because they grew up watching him. Plus he dad was/is a coach.

Looking at some coordinators as possibilities

Well thought of but haven't coached
    Mike Zimmer (DC Cinncinati)
    Bill Musgrave (OC Minnesota)
Russ Grimm (Assistant HC/OC - Arizona)
    Perry Fewell (Giants DC)
    Winston Moss (Packers OC)
    Rob Ryan (Cowboys DC)

    Have coached in past
Dom Capers (DC Packers - former coach Texans)
Dick Lebeau (DC Steelers - former coach Bengals)

I'd think about Zimmer who is a real tough customer, same with Grimm or Rob Ryan

I like Zimmer and Grim, but you have to get rid of Mr. "It is what it is".

I like Rob Ryan! Not only would he be a good, tough head coach but watching him playoff against his brother would be tasty to say the least!

I will be honest. I dont want any retread ex head coach.

Get a young firey OC or DC. Raid the Ravens, Green Bay, or Pats organizatin. Let them bring in their team and change the way we do things.

Raiding the Pats coordinators hasn't worked out very well. 1 legit HC in Haley and that's about it. The rest have been bums. Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong (because I can't think of any more).

Dom Caper's with Pags as DC and Chud as OC might be interesting.

Yeah I agree.. I want a DC though because Defense wins championships..

I'd even go as far as Chuck Pagano..

I would add Mike Pettine to that list too. (Jets DC)

You are not wrong that I am aware of, however what I was looking at is someone who has seen Belichicks approach to preparing for the next game, there are few coaches what are better at getting his team ready for the next opponent IMHO.

    I am gunnin' for Fisher.

Fewell and a few other DC's are interesting, but I KNOW what Fish brings to the table and its exactly what this team needs.

If you mean JOHN Pagano who is our LB coach, he interviewed for the DC job before Manusky got it. He was thought to be the most ready to take on DC responsibilities, I could take that if we get a Zimmer or a Grimm as HC - someone who could lead

Don't know much about him but I'd still consider John Pagano for any DC position. Having said that, I stand corrected

What can you tell me about Chuck?

Definitely aggressive, however its gotta be kind of skewed bc he's had one of the best ILBs ever, as well as one of the best Safety's for as long as he has been there. I know he's a no-nonsense type of guy that has been involved in a very good organization.

Part of me does feel sorry for Norv, he's a nice guy, and probably a very good offensive co-ordinator and someone who knows football. But what he is not is a strong leader, he's not someone who seems to inspire and motivate, not someone who fires up the troops, more like a #2 guy in over his head doing a head coaching job.

If we can't land a marquee name coach (Billick, Gruden, Cowher, etc...), i'd be down for someone like Gregg Williams, or maybe Perry Fewell, i doubt he'd be ineterested but Dom Capers has done a hell of a job with the Green Bay D and would make an interesting HC for us.

yeah he seems like a nice guy but he just doesn't have what it takes to pull 53 guys in the same direction. It is hard and I know I can't do it.

You have to be careful when selecting a successful coordinator as your new head coach as often the reason they are so successful is because they have been able to focus soley on one area, offence or defence and havn't had to worry about all the other extra responsibilities or a head coach and all the pressure that comes with it.

Those bigger personalities generally make for good head coaches
