Concudan just tossed out the term 'geriatric ***.' That got me thinking...what are the ages of the posters on this board? Who is the most senior (I like that better than oldest), and who is the baby. :icon_tease: I'll jump in....I was conceived 66 years ago tonight. I was born on September 21, 1943 as the Allies were storming the beaches at Anzio, Italy. That makes me 65 years three months and three days old as of today. How 'bout the rest of youse guys?
51 :icon_eek:.....Some of the people on these boards are "babies" in more ways than one... I no longer lie about my age... I guess that happens when you turn 50... Oh and for my age, I'm not too bad... :icon_mrgreen:
"Geriatric ***".........I guess that colorful and descriptive phrase could be used in my case as well, seeing as how I'm turning 50 in about 3 1/2 weeks! Forget this nonsense about '50 is the new 30'---this graying, sagging ol' mare doesn't look 30, doesn't feel 30, doesn't act 30, and what's more, wouldn't go back to being 30 if I had the chance. To be that young and stupid again, to have to learn all these hard-earned life lessons again......nope, I'll take the big 5-0, even if it means (ulp) membership in the 'senior citizen' category. Who needs youth and beauty when you've got wisdom and experience on your side? Now, if I could only have the body I had at 20, the looks I had at 30, and the smarts I have now..........
I know how to do CPR over the internet! When I tell you lay down and just keep throwing the Monitor up in the air, and let it hit you upside the head then let it roll down and smack you in the Chest, you will have to do this quickly as possible as we have to maintain a 15 hits per minute rate.
I'll turn 40 in January. God must really hate me because Obama gets sworn in on my birthday. That's ok... I'll just celebrate R E Lee's b'day with mine. That will make it all better.
Dik  Just so you all know, I got the nickname "Gramps" from the old UT days when I became a grandfather. Couple of the youngins chimed in with the old man jokes and the rest is history BUT I'M A DAMN SEXY 53 !!! :icon_party::icon_party:
Never forget Lee. And embrace Obama. Lee fought for this day, believe it or not. I say that as a native Virginian. And happy soon-to-be 40. I thought you were a LOT older. :icon_tease: Only 53?!?!?! You must be older than that. I heard that you were around when the beaches were still made from solid rock. :icon_eek: I'm 51 - born in 1957. Look it up - cool cars, rockets to space, integration, Bobby Fischer, Kerouac, Bogey dies :icon_sad: And I still aspire to be a rock star!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :icon_banana:
27.... *edit* And For The Record I Believe BoltsFanUK Is the Youngest...I Used To Play Him In Madden Online....
Me too---my mental picture was of your stereotypical old fat white guy sitting in a recliner, scratching his balls and swilling beer  My birthday is January 19......Bush's last full day in office. As for me and my house, we will be partying hearty and celebrating the end of a hideous eight years, along with the beginning of my sixth decade of life Wait a minute: did I just say SIXTH decade??!!:icon_eek: Yowza..........that's enough to make even me feel old.
Upon reflection - I retired from my 24 year career in the Navy in the summer of 1987. Now kids born in the several months *after* that date are eligible to both vote *and* drink in any of the states. :icon_eek:
I think that common misconception probably stems from my family spanning many years in just a few generations. I grew up surrounded by family members a great deal older than myself. Here's a couple of examples... my great grandfather was a Civil War veteran (b 1845). His son, also my grandfather, was born in 1888... which would make him 120 years old if he were still alive today. I have 2 uncles that fought during WW2 (one in the Army Air Corps and the other in the Navy). A lot of my opinions and outlook on life was heavily influenced by my older family members.
I don't take it personally. I expected as much from those who are in the latter stages of dementia. :nana_dance: But seriously... let's move on to bigger and better things in life. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. God Bless.:icon_toast:
