not as painful as what AP did to us but yeah - unfortunately we are yet to beat a team with a winning record, with a LONG stretch of games against teams with winning records before an Xmas Eve showdown against the Broncos.

We're going to be shredded by the Colts. Their offensive line will manhandle us, and Manning will keep us on our heels with precision passing. Clark against our safeties is a mismatch, and we haven't gotten consistent pressure all year which is the only way to throw the Colts off of their groove. At this point Merriman does not deserve some fat contract. We won four games without him last year, and he's done jack so far this year when we've needed him.

On offense Rivers will struggle against the cover two like usual. Pressure will come fast and often off of the edges, and Rivers doesn't like stepping up into the pocket for some reason. The Colts will stack the line of scrimmage and blitz every down to stop the run or apply pressure to Rivers. We've seen this same formula by the opposition in every loss dating back to last year, and I don't see why it would change.

Something else that is troubling is the complete lack of energy on the sidelines. After the Peterson fumble we were still in the game and the offense came on the field like zombies. There is no talking on the sidelines, and the coaches are never yelling at the players. Everyone is just going through the motions. Kind of discouraging to be honest.

The Chargers deserve all the negative press heaped on them right now. Sunday was a debacle. I hope it stings and stings badly. Maybe that will be the slap in the face the team needs to wake up and start playing.

My concerns about Rivers are getting stronger...
