He doesn't just create space for himself, but for his teammates too. Like when he allowed Poldi room to make his run in to the box to bag his goal. Yeah his finishing is definitely cringe-worth so far, but I think that's a confidence thing. It took Bergkamp 7 or 8 matches before he scored his 1st Gunner goal, and Henry didn't score until November. We know how they turned out......

Haha yes! Arsenal win 6-1 vs SouthHampton and are now 3rd in the table with City! Highest GD in the Prem too. Podolski had a beautiful free-kick goal.

Unfortunately there are only six fixtures per year versus teams promoted from the Championship.

I think they will give him some time. Fenway Sports Group labored very long in making the decision. Martinez would have been a better choice imo... but with Rafa Benitez in recent memory I think they decided to go with something less "foreign" to rebuild the winning culture to past glories. I am not much more fond of LFC than I am of the Rags... so I am hoping that they remain as they are currently... (or even sink down to where Aston Villa is).

David Silva signed on for another five years at City. Hopefully he can celebrate with a goal or two at the Bernabéu tomorrow. :D

Idk about winning but we'll definitely be in the running w/Chelsea and the Manchester clubs. Steve Bould has done wonders for our back 4. I think when Wilshere and Sagna get match-fit we will have as deep a defence and midfield as anyone. The one thing I noticed is we are finally starting to play that up-tempo passing style that made us so great to watch from 1996-2009.

Anyone else see that spectacular goal by Oscar vs Juventus?!!! My lord that was sublime! The touch....the turn...the strike...wow! Great game...but that Real vs City thriller yesterday takes the cake!

Big EPL fixtures for Arsenal on the horizon....at City and then home to play Chelsea. Massive tests for our squad.

I definitely think Arsenal is better equipped to make a run this year than previous years. The back is playing much better, and goals are coming. The next 2 weeks will be good tests.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone on these boards to have any confidence in Rooney. That was a brutal gash he took a few weeks back. I don't see Man U finishing in the top 3 this year.

Happy to see all 3 German Bundesliga teams score victories in Champions League. City once again drew a tough group.

Smart money. I knew Van Persie had a chance to go to Man U so I thought Rooneys play would be somewhat diminished. Only so many goals to go around.

What's wrong with Chelski??? I don't mind them. But Torres is a bum.

They are rivals for one thing! They also just anger me with their spending...

Rivals I understand. They don't spend as much as the Manchesters of the world.

I wonder when EPL teams debt will equal what happened to the Vegas housing market. Big crash and burn. Hope they institute a salary cap system equal to the NFL, but I doubt it will happen.

If I was the Chelsea boss, I would've shipped Torres and kept Drogba.

They spent more than both Manchester clubs combined this summer! Additionally they just use the "Let's just buy every player that Arsenal targets and ridiculously overpay just so they can't get him" tactic. Tottenham, City, United, and Barcelona use that technique as well. It just bugs me because there's no point in having a scouting network! That's a big reason why you are seeing us buy players in their mid to late 20s...because we can't buy young like we want to. I honestly don't know how we got Oxlade-Chamberlain without any competition last summer.

Chelsea may have spent more this summer, but I believe both Manchester clubs have a higher payroll overall than Chelsea.

It's definitely close. Man U has the most debt that's for sure. I can't wait to see FFP implemented.

100% agreed on that. Not only implemented, but completely re-designed.

Sir Boltfan is only harping because Arsenal is now feeding bigger clubs. I can't say that I have much sympathy for Gooner fans that have been looking down their noses at us all of their lives. :D
