Maybe they'll both be bad and Canucklestan will have a chance.

This Gold Cup will be a good one for the Canucklestan's to give it their all.

    How's the summer work schedule?

What's with the early start in the Bundesliga lower divisions? Usually it starts in August, and I see Bamberg's first game is July 13th and the kickers kick off the season on July 20th. Way early this year.

A bit unpredictable right now. Everything is still very secretive concerning what FOX is going to do come August 17th.

The lower divisions do start earlier. I didn't realize that this was earlier than usual.

Indeed. So will Fox Soccer News continue on that channel? What becomes of Fox Soccer Plus? Do we run there instead? It is hard to build highlight packages when you don't own very many rights.

So, you're basically in a state of flux right now. I still think ESPN buying the rights wasn't a good choice for them. They have too much going on with college football on Saturdays to add EPL games IMO. Fox was the better option. However, I'm just happy GOLTV carries the bundesliga games. Makes me happy.

Currently, my cable provider (Cox Communications) does not carry Fox Soccer Plus.

Went to San Diego for the USA vs Guatemala friendly. Our B team put up 6 goals in a 6-0 win.

Well losing to Martinique is not the way to start a Gold Cup run. And I say Chepo has 2 games to go before he is fired.

Farkin' awful! Some are calling it the absolute low point. My feelings are best expressed in this particular article.

Quite a good article. I agree with the writer. Are the best players even playing? I didn't see Kevin McKenna on the roster.

XM Satellite radio now has a soccer channel. XMFC, I think channel 94. Been listening to it quite a bit. The announcers today were railing on Arsenal's Wenger for having 120m pounds cash in the bank and not spending it on players. A lot of good players have transferred already to different teams and Wenger sat by idly. This was what the announcers were saying (not my words, although there is an good element of truth to it).

Arsenal has fallen way down in terms of attractiveness for new signings. Seems like even Spurs have passed them. Even if Wenger does have the cash... Higuain for example isn't biting.

Which makes me think why has the attractiveness fallen? The Manager? The ownership? Something else?

Something else. They have not kept up with the times. Too many other clubs have passed them.

Could be. But wouldn't some of that fall on the Manager or ownership for "not" keeping up with the times?

Certainly, they can't keep selling their best players (Fabregas, RVP.. etc) and not spend the cash to replace them and expect to remain competitive.

I could tell a small amount of dejection from your fox sports announcers on the show. Tough loss for the hapless hosers. Panama up next.

Good start to the Smokeybiers season. A 1-0 win over Schalding. I was able to listen to the game on the radio. My German is getting better sir Sandolf. Go Eintracht Bamberg.

I've been wondering what the Gold Cup is all about. So it sets you up to play into the Confederations Cup, which is kind of like the poor man's World Cup, eh? No wonder Canada didn't send their best....hahah

The Gold Cup is held every 2 years. Just a tournament between CONCACAF teams. The qualifying for the Confederations Cup has changed, or is changing.

Well obviously the strategy of trying to get the new scrubs as much experience as possible backfired dramatically. Zero goals in three games harkens back to Canucklestan's only World Cup appearance in my living memory.

Can we call this a rebuilding campaign? No! That would be to assume that something was built in the first place. If it doesn't slide on ice or snow... the Hosers can't cope with it... (excepting the odd breath of life in the World Baseball classic where we a still light years behind world powers like Holland and Italy.... hahahaha).

Sadly... there is enough ghetto culture filtering into the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) from the south that the number one pick in the NBA draft was from here. Fark ^%!#@%@!%#%!#!!

Instead of citing the example of obvious morons like the CSA... Martinique may be a much better situation to look at. They are not even recognized as a nation by FIFA. Yet on a regional basis they have done quite well.
