Kind of a tentative start in the UCL for City. Barry's back pass howler cost them the win. Early days... but our finishing needs to be better... and the defense needs to contain the mental lapses. Mancini looked a tad pissed off after the final whistle.
Ya, well you did hit quite a few crossbars and posts. You looked the better side. Can't wait to see Bayern v Man City... that matchup is next for them.
Gotta love the American fans of the Bundesliga. http://www.bundesliga.de/en/liga/news/2010/index.php?f=0000193163.php
If I got a City jersey it would've been either Silva or Kompany. I just got a David Villa FCB kit and I must say it is beautiful. I'm aiming for either a Hazard, Gotze, Ozil, Gourcuff, Bale, Van der Wiel or Thiago Silva jersey next. I'd even consider an Ajax kit. Which would you choose?
Hamsik really gave City issues! Kolarov's goal was very timely because a loss in that group is tough to overcome.
Full Time . Shamrock Rovers 0 Rubin Kazan 3 Both teams missed a penalty. Rovers outplayed, Rubin were far superior. Tottenham up next at White Hart Lane for Rovers, so it aint gonna get any easier.
This guy Martin Samuel is a pretty amusing writer. He said... There is incredible romance in this competition, but dwell too long on it and City will end up admiring from the outside. If Wednesday's fixture was one for the dreamers, the next time City play a Champions League tie here, against Villarreal, there can be no sentiment. There are no walkovers for first-timers in the Champions League. Yet , for a moment, disregard the final score and think purely of the occasion. There is something really rather charming in finding a stadium in which the Champions League anthem actually has meaning, an overblown parcel of musical excrement though it may be. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-City-discover-steep-climb-Carnegie-Hall.html
Interesting selection of footballers sir. I'll address them in order. Lille's kit doesn't do it for me. Borussia Dortmund is one of my least favorite teams... (the kind of team I can cheer against even vs USA in a friendly). Özil? Well its Real Madrid. Both quite tasteful. Worth consideration. I liked Spurs kit more when it had the touch of yellow in it. The current strip is kind of boring. Gregory Kurtley van der Wiel... THIS is my choice! If Milan... I go for Internationale.
Well sir... enjoy the competition. Its a start. 'arry is likely to roll out his reserves and youth team for the next one... so you never know.
Leaving tomorrow for Nebraska for a family funeral , and a family reunion the same day (same side of family). Gonna be somber to say the least, so I won't be around much this weekend if at all. Good luck to everyone on their games: Sandy - Fulham v Man City SirBMan II - Blackburn v Arsenal PaddyIrishMan - Leeds United v Bristol City David110 - Everton v Wigan ViennaLager - Bayer 04 Leverkusen v FC Koeln Tycebrew - TSV 1860 Rosenheim (1st place) v FC Eintracht Bamberg Conc - Enter the fray sir... your team goes here... who be it?
Have a good trip sir. I'll also be hoping for a good result in the SpVgg Greuther Fürth II - Stuttgarter Kickers match.
I was thinking about a major shake up for Al Abbas... but decided to hold off for one more week. I've got £11.9 mil. tied up in Robin van Persie... (down from the £12 mil. I paid for him)... and I'm getting farg all in return. These toads that have Rag Rooney installed as captain are killing me in the leagues. I could do that too and swap him one to one... BUT that would be distasteful to the max. RVP better get something for me against lowly Blackburn... and Chelski should put a stop to the Rags' rampage. If not I must come up with a creative solution.
I had to dump some large baggage also. Drogba and a lazy, non-playing Ruskiy. If Chelski can stop Man U, then I might have a chance at beating Touching Sloth.
Drogba`s injury was unfortunate. I`m surprised these clashing of heads doesn`t happen more often. Agreed on your match. A clean sheet for the Blues would VERY much help your cause.
I picked up Doyle from Wolves. Hopefully he will be a quality pickup. Thinking about making him captain even.
Well I think Sir Boltman was correct. You`ve got £7 mil. of goalkeeper on your bench. I`d trade him down for a cheap backup... and your Morrison in the midfield could become a Dempsey. ps... make your best offensive threat captain. A striker can score multiple goals. A goalkeeper can only get one clean sheet. A defender that scores a lot would be perfect... (but there are not many of those).
Definitely correct. My "strategy" at the time was... get 2 good keepers, and play the 1 that has the weakest opponent, while using cheap defenders on pretty good teams for clean sheets. Seeing how the game has gone, that's backfired. Other than not knowing half the people on my team (hahaha ), it's been a helluva learning experience. Fun... but not taking it too serious. Just trying not to look too bad. I'll do a lot better in the Euro's and WC's although there's still some luck in that also.
Nicolas Anelka`s getting a hat trick against the Rags! Hey you`re doing alright. I checked the stats. You are in 64,664th place amongst the Americanos.
Leeds Utd 2 Bristol City 1. A late winner for Leeds who finished with ten men. Very patchy form to start the season.
Quick check in from Omahaha. Was only able to quickly scan scores this morning. Was shocked to see some of the results. Will be back in Vegas tonight. FC Koeln FTW!!! Podolski!!!
Back from the trip. It was a nice celebration of life for my uncle who succumbed to cancer. The family reunion was amazing. The Nebraska Cornhusker tailgate party/family reunion was amazing. Go Huskers.
