I'm really scared. I keep thinking, o wow, how great rivers will be. But then that demon Leaf pops into my mind and I get really worried. Rivers and Leaf were both great in the NCAA. Leaf almost went to the Colts, and Rivers almost went to the Giants. Both Mannings ended up on different teams but were destined for the Chargers. Jesus, this could ruin our franchise. This is a huge gamble man, I mean the outcome will determine our status for the next few years. Is anyone else biting their nails over this?

I have some worries about Rivers, but nothing like Leaf. Yes, I think he will make mistakes, but I think Rivers has the intangables, character, plus all the tangables to make him a star in this league. I'm very sorry to see Brees go, and will always be a fan of his. Brees has heart and determination, but Rivers has more raw talent. I think Rivers has heart and determination also, but time will tell.

I watched Philip for four years at State. There is a zero percent chance he will be a dud. Zero. None. Nada. Zilch. I guarantee he will be in the pro bowl several times.

Interesting post. You are not the first poster to compare Rivers to the one who shall not be mentioned.

But at some point in life, you have to move on. You have to let go of the past.

This is like dating a girl and then you find out that she's been cheating on you. So ultimately you dump her and eventually you start dating again.

But then you are fearful of every girl you meet will cheat on you. It becomes a self-defeating process. Lets say you even meet an incredible woman, but because you have been hurt, you sabotage and destroy the relationship by looking for things that aren't even there.

Its not worth it. The one who shall remain nameless is not worth it.

We should not dwell in the past, but instead look towards an incredibly bright future.

Never let mistakes of the past limit your immeasurable future.

If you make Philip your quarterback, he will make you proud. That I promise.

    NOW LETS GIT-R-DONE !!!!

Rivers' will undoubtedly be better than Leaf, just for the simple reason that he has a good attitude. Even without knowing his talent at the NFL level, he's a out and out winner, and at the least he'll be an above average QB. I'm very excited to see him play. Big Ben and PR will be the only qb's from that draft to win a Super Bowl ring...p.s. F*** ELI!!! I hate the manning family, and I truly and deeply hope they die! All praise be to the PR! He da man!

    p.s.s. the manning family looks straight up inbread, F those punk B******! ...and yes I am bitter, hick bastards!:icon_rofl: :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: :icon_rofl: :icon_twisted: :icon_rofl:

I worry more about our Offensive lines ability to protect PR than PR's ability to get it done.

Battles are won and lost in the trenches. What's good for the QB is good for the RB just the same.

Rivers will be a better QB with his top weapons in the game. LT, Gates, McCardell, Parker, and Jackson didnt even play that much if at all in the preseason.
What weve seen in the preseason doesnt resemble anything remotly like what well see when all the cards are on the table.
I read that article with the guy hammering Rivers, "If hes not doing well when defenses arnt game planning, what happens when they do?"
Well ill tell u what, our offense didnt have a game plan either, none of our best players played, and there was no scheme.
That *** is taking preseason to much to heart.
