Steve Smith wants to be a Bolt « Bolt Beat | A San Diego Chargers Blog He'll be a free agent, could be a good addition
Yes, let's get him before anyone realizes that he is available. He will be a valuable asset to the offense, and it will only cost a few million to pick him up and put him on the roster. Plus, I heard that he no longer considers himself a locker room cancer. Pointy
I wonder what we'd have to give up for him it is a luxury we might not be able to afford. Our more urgent needs are the front D 7 and the right O line
Ummmmm let me think about it, NO pass !!! Is Larry Fitz available though ? Loved the guy back a fe ago....think father time and injurries are his closet friends these days unfortunately...... 3 years ago I would have jumped at this guy, was an absolute beast of a player with a nasty disposition for an "O" player too. Good, young QB could be just what he needs for the last hurrah...maybe somewhere like the Rams ?
I think that breaks all the rules of the Intergalatic Interwebby code of goodwill treaties by bringing the "TOS moniker" over here BLEW !!!! ....let me look into that....
He is owed over $7 mil a year for the next 2 years. There is no way he is worth any draft pick plus that salary.
He heard we were giving playing time to veterans, former Pro Bowlers who have had trouble staying healthy in recent years (see Bob Sanders). That said, unless we see another slew of holdouts (unless the appellate court overturns Susan Nelson's decision, at which point we're back to lockout, we're looking at 2010 free agency rules again except that we don't have to comply with the Final 8 rule because we didn't make the playoffs last year - which means VJax tagged (up in the air, as that may actually be tied to the lawsuit as he was a plaintiff - I'll explain below), Floyd RFA, Weddle RFA, Clary RFA, Oliver RFA, Siler RFA, Barnes & Applewhite RFA, Tolbert RFA. As to what I mentioned above with Jackson: The last time the NFLPA filed suit against the League during a labor dispute the plaintiffs named sought, as part of their reparations, to be granted effective immunity from receiving the franchise tag for the remainder of their respective pro careers. Or do you think it's coincidence that the plaintiffs in this suit (Von Miller - a bona fide Top 5 anyway - and Tom Brady aside) were all the franchise tagged players for what would have been this offseason?
