I know alot of you have sons/daughters. What are the hottest toys? I know last year it was PSP and IPOD's. This year looks to be PS3,XBOX360. Not sure what the differences are. NE one spending 600 on the system?

One of the most anticipated titles, "Gears of War", is available only on XBox 360.

We're a PS family... My son only played Halo on XBOX and ended up giving his XBOX to a little kid that had gotten his PS2 stolen... His XBOX days are over as a result of that.

Blonde question, I know... Will the PS3 have a DVD burner? What is soooo special about it that it costs that much $$$$$$$??

You mean the ps3??? I think its just an upgrade from the ps2..nothing more exciting besides it costin 6 bills and the games go for 60 bux each. Ima stick the the ps2 and xbox for awhile until the 360 goes down a bit.

I have been reading some reviews of the new PS3 and to put it mildly, I'm really disappointed...

Not sure what to do now...

Hmm. Need to read up on the WII... (new Nintendo version)

IF you are looking for a gaming console, I highly reccommend the Nintendo Wii. Although nintendo has kinda taken a back seat over the past several years, in my experience, the Wii is much more fun in game play than the PS3. The animation isn't fantastic, but all in all it is a fantastic system. PLUS, the Wii runs about $250 for the system as opposed to $600 for the PS3.

I've heard (through the grapevine, granted) that the PS3 has a LOT of programming problems with it... but I don't know that for sure...but what I do know:

I LOVE the Wii. It's fantastic!

PS3 is going to have alot of problems with the first shipments out. Just like any other gaming console. I would just grab a xbox 360 or stay away from the ps3 for awhile.

My daughter was looking at the Wii last week too...I have to look at it a little more...I am not paying $600 for a PS3. I might go to BB tonite now that the ultra-serious shoppers have come and gone.

I think it has Blu-Ray...at least that was what the original plan was. I haven't kept up on it.

They had it at BB a few days ago...I saw it...now my little one wants it and I cannot find it ANYWHERE...:icon_eek: :icon_eek: :icon_sad: Not CC, BB, Walmart, Target, Costco...nowhere! My only hope is I know a kid who works at BB that I am talking to tommorow...save me one from the next shipment! :icon_sad: I hate Christmas "hot" toys... They almost laughed at me when I asked if they had it...only the BB guy was sympathetic to my plight when I called..

Good luck finding the Wii... I know it's almost impossible to find right now... Same with TMX Elmo.

It seems you almost have to "know someone" to get the hard to find Christmas items.. OR... be willing to pay the extra $$$$$$$$$$$$$

I will pay the kid to call me when the next shipment comes in...It was right THERE on Wednesday...I could have had it.... What a naive fool I was...:icon_sad: :( :crying:

I got my wife a new digital camera. the exilim z600 from casio. Again, she gives me no hints.

Sounds like you did very well..the stuff on these kid's lists now is so expensive that in my house they get one or two "big" items and then just little stuff...You can't go wrong with mp3 players...I just got my 14 yo daughter the iPod nano for her birthday today and the thing has been on her head continuously lol...Now I want it! It is so small...perfect for jogging or the gym...I have the big one that I love too but that little one...so many wonderful electronics out there...

Still can't get that Wii....:icon_twisted: That camera sounds very nice for your wife...

    lol at "don't get me anything"...every occasion that's my Dad's mantra...of course I don't listen!

I was helping my granddaughter make up her Christmas listthe other day...

My wife had a really hard time believing that a four year old girl wants a Compound miter saw, a dewalt 18 volt cordless drill and a 1/2 ton floor jack for Christmas...
