Michael Silver's an ******* with an anti-Charger agenda.

Still, those quotes are not happy-making.

You can't be supremely happy about that game and yeah Turner's mouthy BS does lead to eye rolling

I was incredibly stoked to win last night. At the same time, we didn't win it the right way.

Yea that's right. Keep realistic, it was pure luck that Vinatieri
missed the FG. Turner tries to get the psychological view,
but this doesn't fit in those minutes.

Honestly, I'm glad our players aren't mouthing off or thinking they did something special yesterday. I think it's a good sign that we are able to self evaluate and recognize how little cause there is to celebrate. Not that I'm not extremely pleased with the win. But there should be no victory monday.

This is it. It's time to fire Norv Turner. There are 13 year old boys who play Madden on their Xbox after school who could gameplan to shut our offense down. It doesn't take a brilliant DC to do so.

 all do so, but not Rivers. He is no self evaluator.

I think the idea that what Norv said was wrong is pure bullshit. That's just coachspeak. Every coach is going to put a positive spin on that game. They just beat the defending SB champs. Silver's a douche who loves to bash the Bolts. He's a nocal guy through and through. When he's not fellating Jeff Tedford, he's fellating Tom Brady.

Winning an ugly game can wake a team up. I've certainly seen it before. Why shouldn't Norv try and put that spin on it? What should he have said? "We suck and we didn't deserve to win." I think the players know how poorly they played. I don't think they need their noses rubbed into it.

I've never read so many anonymous sources in one article. Does that draw the stories credibility into question at all? I mean I'm just not really familiar with the anonymity process for pro athletes. Do they just have to tell a reporter, don't give them my name, but ".........."?

If these "unnamed player" quotes are true we are in MAJOR trouble!

Very true. The guy licks Tom Brady's nuts at every given chance.

That maybe true but we all agree that this team has some serious issues. I wouldn't be surprised that this is 100% true.

I think that's the problem- if even some of these quotes... one of the many, are true... then there is a quasi-meltdown going on. Truthfully, the players need to find themselves and try to do this on their own, but it's easier said than done.

As far as last night goes, I think PR made some bad mistakes, but I also think he's been put in shoddy play call situations. The first thing many people say, is "no, PR is the QB and he should be able to audible or do what he wants do." I don't think it's that easy- if Norv is trying to swing a big stick and the PR is "scared" (for lack of better terms) to reccomend or call something else, than Norv could be driving this team into the ground.

Needless to say- this is one of the worst feelings I've ever had- AFTER A WIN! I am sure that I'm not the first and won't be the last to feel this way! :icon_sad:

I didn't want Norv and was lukewarm on Teddy, but I do understand why they were hired. To keep the ship going in the right direction. So I did agree with the hiring but I don't think I've ever seen this kind of turnaround in sports ever. We have way too much talent to be so blah on the field. At the end of the year Norv and Ted both need to go!

I just watched all the postgame and Monday interviews (including some not shown there - ie Monday's Norv presser - you can view them by clicking in the vid box after one is played) and I feel a lot better about the team.

I call bullshit on the Yahoo Michael Silver column.

Nothing from the beat writers suggests that, and not a hint from any interview by any player or coach.

    Today's Canepa chat transcript - (11/12/07)

Some of that whole transcript is pure comedy. "Laying awake worrying about Jammer at safety...." ... then more Marty love .... whatever.

Acee, Trotter, Canepa, Posner, Sullivan, Paris... etc .... none of them have mentioned anything resembling what Mikey Silver wrote today. Either we've got another "Donna" or "Marcy" on this team, or Silver is flat out making these quotes up to stir the pot.

UT writer Tim Sullivan, and NC Times writer Jay Paris have taken TONS of pot shots at AJ in the last year or more. I absolutely guarantee that if they sniffed the comments that Silver wrote, then they would have found a way to work it in to their column/story.

LT Monday interview - Chargers.com video

Rivers Monday interview - Chargers.com video

Extemely upbeat and positive from Rivers, and LT's is good as well.

Watch Wilhelm, Florence and Cesaire's interviews. I don't see a hint of what Mikey Silver was talking about in his column. Nothing post game, and nothing today. Nothing from the beat writers. Nada. Zip.
