You don't do it in the sand, you do it in the surf........standing. That's how it's done without the added "texture". :icon_eek: :icon_rofl:
It doesn't matter. You go in the water and the "texture" somehow magically finds its way in. Next thing you know, you've been texturized in all the wrong places :icon_eek:
New words for the song.... "Bring back that 'textured' feeeeeeeling....." <object height="355" width="425"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7827EMkm5ko&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" height="355" width="425"> :icon_tease::lol: </object>
Yep. There is one in both Chula Vista and Santee. The South Bay Drive-In (chula Vista). The Santee Drive-In ( Santee) Duh.:icon_tease:
Speaking of drive-in's.........do y'all remember the old Oscar's Drive-In restaurants? (Yeah, I know I'm really dating myself here, but of course I was LITTLE then!) They were, like, the last places where you could order your food through a microphone in the parking lot, and they had carhops on rollerskates who brought it to you and set it on a tray in your car window. I remember thinking those girls were about the coolest thing around and wanting to be like them when I grew up..........now I can't even rollerskate without falling on my ***. Oh well, those were the days, eh guys?
Don't remember that... ... but there is a chain called Sonic that has the little speakers and bring the food to your car (via girls on skates). They have some great shakes
Who had great shakes? Sonic or the girl's on skates? :icon_shrug: Remember cruising Valley Parkway and 2nd street? :icon_party:
You know you are from Lakeside when your truck has a 8" lift in the front with white fenders and the rear is still stock height. :icon_rofl:
I cruised Valley Parkway when I worked at the Wild Animal Park for a summer. It was a blast. They had outdoor concerts. On breaks, at night, in the dark, we'd run across the park and catch a concert.
I saw the Smothers Brothers, Sha Na Na and Quarterflash at the Wild Animal Park. :yes: I lived about a mile from the park. Remember the Distillery?
I remember when Hot Rod magazine came to Escondido to do a feature on Valley Parkway, which was then the #2 cruising spot in the nation. We were right behind Van Nuys Boulevard, I think it was. Everybody and his brother, his cousin from Texas, and his house cat was out cruising that weekend.......of course, I was out there too (I lived just off Valley Parkway in those days) with my radio cranked up all the way, just digging on a hot summer night and carving out my own tiny place in cruising history. Someday I'll tell y'all about meeting the guy I lost my virginity to during a traffic stop for a burned-out headlight...........or maybe not.
What I miss are the original A&W restaurants. They were like the Sonics with the parked car ordering only better. Best Root Beer ever

Remember when "The Mall" was UTC? Ever jump off of the top rock at Black Canyon? Remember Judas Priest at the Murph?
I remember when the "mall" was College Grove, and the onliest things in Mission Valley were Westgate Park, The Town and Country Club, and the Admiral Baker Golf Club :icon_eek: BTW, what's UTC?? :icon_shrug: :icon_huh:
