Hmm... most memorable season... very first season that I paid attention to, Merriman's rookie year. Taking down the undefeated Colts was the GREATEST, three sacks for Merriman, best one was in the red zone. Hell ya.
I also know when my next most memorable season will be .... when Norv shoves our Lombardi up B4L's ***!! :icon_twisted:
'91 For the purely selfish reason of seeing the Bolts in the flesh for the first time. A 4-12 season and I saw 2 of the wins! Carney screams through a last second FG from about 80yds to beat Seattle. The following week beating the Saints in a thriller. If only I had stayed, we could have went undefeated the rest of the season!!
I could go with the standard SB Season answer. But instead I'll say 1999... when Leaf was injured, got suspended by Beathard, then got caught on video playing in a flag football game during the injury/suspension. I happened to be in San Diego that weekend for the game. Actually, we also sat in Ryan Leaf's seats. My lil' brother's friend was roommates with Leaf's younger brother... an equally hideous douchebag of a kid. Cade McNown - also from my Hometown and friends with my brother and his buddy - was the starting QB for the Bears... who just happened to be the opponent that week. Unfortunately for the world of football fans, we did not get to see both of those fucsticks on the field competing against one another that day, because our prized QB was off eating Taco Bell and Jack in the Box nursing his other injury sustained while trying to rip the flag off that fat little black kid who picked him off during his Saturday flag FF game. Jeezus that was awful. And to think I was asked if I wanted to go "throw the ball around with Ryan" that weekend. My reply to that question was "UH... that motherfuccker is injured. He better not be playing football this weekend" And so it goes... that was my brush with the Devil. Gawd I wish someone could find the video of that kid picking him off in the park. Pathetic.
tough call but i have to say '94. starting 6-0, all the comeback victorys throughout playoffs, dennis gibson and the hand of god:clap: but wouldve loved to see the '81 season. coryell offense putting up those numbers along with the epic in miami among other great gamesopcorn: stars are lining up for some good memories come this january:icon_toast: :flag:
The worst part is that it is true... Ryan Leaf is the focal point of my most memorable NFL football season. :eyepoke:
My best season starts right now, a very good friend of mine from Dego arrived today and she handed me an authentic Merriman jersey. I'm stoaked, shes a great lady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Got season tickets during the 92-93 playoffs. Was sitting in the endzone bleacher seats for the SD v KC game. When Butts broke off that 54 yrd TD in the second half, he was running right at me. Place went freaking nuts on that play. Then in 93 I moved to the bay area, but still kept my tickets and would fly down for every game (pre wife and kids). Most memorable:1994 After the Gibson deflection in the AFC Championship game, my buddy who is a 9ers fan asked if I had a chance to get Super Bowl tickets. I told him, "With only 2 accrued seasons as a ticket holder, ya me and the snowball in hell." He said "I will make you a deal, if you get the tickets, I will get us there." Well what do you know that snowball was one frozen sob. I get home on Wednesday to find a letter in my mailbox telling me to get my *** down to SD to pickup my SB tix. Called my bud and left a simple message on his answering machine. "Mike, Miami" click. He called me in shock. "You got tickets?!?!". "Yeah I got tickets". "No, seriously, you got tickets!?". "Yeah, I'm flying down tomorrow AM to get them!" "Holy ****, I gotta go" "What? Why?" "I have to figure out how the fuk we are getting there!" ROAD TRIP! Couldn't get a flight to Miami that did not involve a first born. We ended up flying into Atlanta, renting a car and driving to Miami(663 MILES!). Then we stayed in some **** hole of a Holiday Inn just outside a housing community called, "South Miami Heights"(or some **** like that) aka the projects. Only bonus of the hotel was that out the back parking lot was a strip club.
My most memorable was the 1963 season, with Hadl, Lowe, Lincoln, Alworth, Ladd, Faison and Kecourec. Ended with a 51-10 victory over the Boston Patriots. I won a bet with my father and doubled it on a double or nothing with more smash mouth in the second half.
