I hope that 40 years from now our Grandkids can read an article about how the 2010 Superbowl Champion Chargers were all on steroids. :abq1::abq1:

No need to chill bro, I'm not hopped up on anything, I never heard that though, and if you haven't seen it, it's new to you.

I knew Sid introduced weight training to pro football, but was never made aware of this factoid, take the thread down if you want.

For the record, I have not read every thread on bt, nor do I know every single thing about the Chargers and their history.

LSD was still legal back then also, so whats the big deal?
Its not like the Chargers were a huge force and no one wanted to play them?

The east coast media has been on LSD since 1963.

In 1963 the Sid Gillman led Chargers beat the Boston Patriots 51-10 in the AFL championship game. Many sports historians believe that had the Chargers played the NFL champion Chicago Bears that year that the Chargers would have won. However, this cannot stand without a ESPN attack on the credibility of the '63 Chargers. Per ESPN no other team was using steriods or speed at that time :icon_huh: and therefor the Chargers' 1963 record is tarnished.

On a side note, ESPN cannot stop telling us that Belichick is a genius. And as Peter King wrote during the Belichick cheating scandal, what the Patriots did for 8+ years is nothing compared to Merriman getting suspended for steriods.....once.

First of all the drug scandal about the Chargers broke in the 70's. To those of us that were Bolt fan's back then, yes this indeed is very old new's. ESPN is just bringing up ancient history as the original AFL teams head into their 50TH year celebration.

Guess I think of all Bolt fans the same. Some of us have just been around longer than others. It's all good.:icon_toast:

And who cares what ESPN says, all they do is create news, when they should just report it!

And the Bears declined to play us that Year, thats why they have a Super Bowl.

I was born in '78 so I guess I might have missed the whole ordeal. Strange how fuqing espn just did a show on it like it's late breaking though. Apparently they weren't completely satisfied with the amount of protesters trying to get our 63 title taken so they fed more salt in the sheeple wound in hopes of generating more hatred.
