I just wish we could have gotten BEEF in this draft in the 1st RD. I am not complaining getting Mathews, Dan Williams who was selected by the Cards was there for the taking and we did not select him. That is where I would have gone but I am not AJ Smith.

Pretty much this. Unless we give up Merriman for that 2nd. I'm stoked about Matthews though.

Or even SP, could we get into the 2nd with SP or maybe even Sproles?.

I'd be stoked to get rid of SP. I think Merriman is going to prove the doubters wrong next year.

Hey can I have merriman as my adopted bolt? How does that work?

Seems to me we made RB a very high priority when AJ himself said we didn't need a 'franchise' back.

    Time will tell.

I hope we get those tough yards when we need them

I don't really care one way or the other. The season is going to start and whoever is on the team will play. Same as last year and 49 before it.

I like the move, but don't know if it was too expensive.

Maybe AJ had only the Dolphins for a trade and was anxious
Ryan Mathews wouldn't be there if he waited.

I think we needed a good RB and got it. He's from California
and likes to play for the bolts. This is good for team chemistry.

Wish AJ gets enough for the linemens need later on.

I like Mathews, but am not happy about losing our 2nd when we have major needs on the defensive side of the ball

This was planned buddy. Do you think its a coincedince that Dobbins signed a 1yr deal the other day? The trade was pretty intricate, involving players, swapped 4th rounders, and getting us into the 6th round.....

I'm sure we had this worked out with Miami weeks ago, probably depending on how the board fell.

We've now got to pray that we can either trade back into the 2nd or Terrence Cody falls into the 3rd

Dan Williams was there and AJ ****ed up

I liked it - might end up loving it depending on how the rest of the draft shakes out.

I'm warming up to it. AJ has a good track record in the later rounds.

    Make it happen.

    Hate it.

A.J. should have taken Dan Williams.

This team will need one more draft to win the whole enchilada. That sucks. Oh well.

I'm OK with it as long as AJ can work some magic to pick up someone to help the DL (i.e., Cody, Thomas, Price, Joseph). If not I will be pissed.

I know we need a running back but how many more points do we need to score? Defense is a more pressing need IMO.

love it--- we got a RB with speed who won't shy away from tacklers. Nice to see some "beef" at the tailback position.
