Way to early for that kind of talk. The 1983 draft produced three first ballot hofers--two have been called the greatest qb ever. I don't hear that kind of talk with any of the three picked in 2004. Where 2004 compares favorably to other years is the fact that three out of the four qbs picked in the first round have panned out. Usually the percentage is a little less than 50% of the qbs picked in the first round, pan out. In 1983, the percentage was 67%--out of the six, three had great careers, one a prolific career, and the remaining two disappointed, quickly.

No not at all. The first is:

ELWAY, JIM KELLY, MARINO. 9 Super Bowls between them.
3 of the best in History.

    2nd is:

    RIVERS, ROETHLISBERGER, ELI.

No comparison at all. Ben and Eli only really won, and got to the Super Bowl because of thier defense. NOT thier QB abilities.

    but only two wins.

and IMO, the Ravens & Bears are the only two teams that can claim their defense won the SB

I said thier defense got them to the SB. Ben's first SB was not won by him, he played horrible. Eli only won because the dude caught the ball on his helmet.

You can't say Pittsburgh's defense, and the Giants defense wasn't a HUGE part in the SB victories, and the years they won.

It doesn't matter Elway, Marino, and Kelly are 2-7 in SB's. They are still 3 of the top QB's of all time. Without them, those teams don't make it to the SB during those years.

5 years from now Elway, Marino, and Kelly will still be the better class of QB's.
