1- Malcolm X. Floyd. I love this guy and he needed a big game last night. Did he get it with three catches and a 2 pointer? Does coming up with a big catch allow him to make the team?

2- I missed the game except for the last few minutes... Did Pinnock get in? He didn't get any yards according to the game stats... has he lost his spot on the team?

3- Merriman... Is he playing this fall? Or is it a date with the surgeon's knife and knee surgery?

4- Applewhite from SDSU seems to be making a statment in camp... is he making the roster... practice squad?

5- Newberry is impressing me less and less with each game. Anyone think Cory Withrow could be the starter?

I hope the D is playing the most vanilla D of their lives, otherwise, ****'s weak.

    Also, learn to tackle already.

Floyd looked sharp but he's still on the bubble. I think it's about 50/50 whether he stays or goes. I didn't see Pinnock at all, and there's a good chance he's gone. Tolbert has looked pretty sharp out there. Merriman is a giant question mark right now. And I disagree about Newberry. Our o-line performed much better than they did during the first two games so I'll cut the guy a little slack. :bolt:

Floyd stays. He's ascended to be a ST gunner, working his way UP the depth chart, and with his good play last night, his spot is secure.

Osgood has sucked this preseason, after publicly whining about his situation. His only value was on ST, and there are several now on the team that can be his equal in that arena. That spells doom under the AJ Smith tenure.

We have got some of the most stupid fans around.

    3 times............

    3 Seperate times!

Why in the world would someone try and get a wave going when we have the ball?

First off that wave is dead.

    Second off waves generate noise.

These wouldn't be the same stupid fans that chanted "Marty, Marty, Marty" last year, or the same ones that decided to boo Rivers and the offense in the Baltimore game after just two plays would they?

    No...

I was one those that booed Rivers.

And if you notice his play improved after that game!

I think we have no stupid Charger Fans on this site.
Sometimes some of our friends are just a little out of sync.

poof doesn't count as a Charger fan anymore does he? Ever since his guy was cut, he's taken on troll-like appearances.

Last night was the first game I got to watch so I can't compare it to previous games but.............

If we tackle like that in the regular season we will NOT make the playoffs.

However, I thought the second half effort was much improved.

Anybody that roots for Eric Parker like he's the greatest WR since Jerry Rice is mentally challenged.

Newberry was destroying people yesterday. I've never seen Withrow go and block people in the runninggame like Newberry was in yesterdays game.

I think said appearances began much longer ago than with the cutting of Eric "Hands of Stone" Parker.

Even though I know it was meant in just... it's pretty much all been downhill since this thread.

The center-QB exchange will improve by the season opener. I have faith in that.

That bungled snap was goofy... looked like the center just didn't realize Rivers was in the shotgun. :icon_huh:

That was my thinking as well. He might have misunderstood the play call and forgot that Rivers would be 5 yards behind him.

We have to remember that Newberry played under a different system and different terminology last year with Oakland. We can't expect him to fully get everything in just 5 months.

Could it have been those damn Seahawk fans starting the wave?

Our fans may have been stupid for starting the coolest wave ever! It was bad timing and probably just a bunch of drunken idiots that started it but the fans enjoyed it and it got the excitement level up and didn't cost us on the field.
Those same fans pulled a Seahawks move and roared on a third and goal to cause a false start that aided in preventing a touch down in PRESEASON. So don't bag on the fans. BTW I call it a Seahawks move because I've only heard it at Qwest Field and Now the Q. Haven't been many other places, though.

So is it those same Seahawk fans that try and start the wave during other home games when we have the ball?

This is not the first time something like this has happened!

Thats because those are probably the last 2 places on the planet that do a wave!

If you want to that thing, do it when the other team has the ball! Its not that hard to understand. And other teams fans understand the concept of being quiet when the home team has the ball.

Ofense looked decent, will be much better with LT, Gates, McNeill and Hardwick in there. OL finally blocking some one and opening up holes. (no worries here)

Defense looked bad, I know it's a vanilla defense but still, make some tackles will ya, if Jamal goes down this team is in trouble.

Special Teams looked good, Scifres makes it look easy.
