NFLN showing the 81 AFC championship and the 81 season review for the Bolts. Even though they lost it's still awesome to see the great Coryell team. I wish i could have seen them live. :bolt::bolt:

Not exactly the game I was looking for them to show. Why not the Chargers v Dolphins from the previous week? It will also re-air tomorrow at 9 or 9:30 am in case some one is interested in watching again!

That post season can be summed up in the immortal words of Jim McKay.

"The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat."

...Or the agony of degrees:no:Negative that is...as in 58 below, considering wind chill. Would have loved to have seen this in playable conditions. Maybe the Chargers would have stomped the upstart Niners in the Super Bowl and Gene Klein wouldn't have started parting out that great team.

My thoughts exactly Stan. Probably the greatest game EVER played. It was painful to watch that game again. I did watch it for a second, but I started to get teary eyed.....Man, that could have been our Super Bowl year.:(

    He already had.

With those 2 players still on the team, I think our record would have been better then 10-6 and maybe we could have had a better record then Cincy and also might have beaten them during the regular season when they played in SD.

81 he sold off high priced players. JJ in week 3 and Dean in week 5.

82 he bought his horses and stable.

fuking Klein cared more about his damn horses then the team.

No, he cared more about money than winning! I don't hate Gene Klein, just think he was meddling in situations where he didn't need to be, we did not have a strong GM in those days, paging Johnny Sanders and they basically did whatever Klein told them to do, player asks for more money, ship them out!!! Not that AGS wasn an improvement either.....paging Jim Lachey!

...The following year the Chargers whomped both the 49ers and Bengals during the season. Hmmm, if my Boltbrain memory is in full function that would be 41-37 over the Whiners and 50-34 over the Kitties while rolling up 651 yards on a Monday night. That game had every nuance of the mighty Chargers offense. I remember a half-back option touchdown pass from Muncie, a long draw play touchdown run by Brooks and one helluva day for Wes Chandler (something like 10 catches/270 yards).

Bring back the Super Chargers... Norv. You have all the weapons in place :abq2:

You are correct! I have both of those games on DVD, it's probably about time to pull them out and watch them again.
