A detailed analysis of the Patriots' zone-blocking scheme

    The Patriots plan on using zone-blocking schemes much more frequently this season, to aid their RB Maroney in his rushing attack.

    This is very similar to what the Broncos do with their OL, only that the Pats won't be cut blocking like the frackin' Donks.

    the big thing in a zone blocking scheme is to have your ILBs fill those gaps immediately because those gaps are the one cut that backs like Maroney or Henry need to run to day-light.

    Which is why it's important that we have good ILBs that can attack the LOS and clog those gaps, instead of waiting 5 yards away for the RB to come to them.....

    are you thinking of a particular ILB? maybe a recent ex-charger? :icon_shrug:
